ghost gamer 0 Posted April 29, 2003 Share Posted April 29, 2003 hey folks...need some tech expertise...I recently put a new 60 gig hard drive in my HP Pavlion Xt 933...I replaced the original with the exact make(Western Digital) and size...I then copied over my existing hard drive data...everything works fine...except...when I try to run defrag or scandisk it says that the drive is locked by a disk utility...nothing is running in the background except explorer.....do I have to reformat the disk?..if so..no biggie...just gonna kill 4.5 hrs to recopy my orginal drive data over...any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks!!... Specter 0 Posted April 29, 2003 Share Posted April 29, 2003 Well, let's see....did you just copy the stuff over, or did you use Ghost or Drive Image, or another utility of that nature. Also, go into your bios and see if there are any disk utilities in there that were enabled automatically when you added the drive. There are some bios's out there that automatically enable utilities such as SmartDrive and a few others. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
