Zoot
Well, first of all lemme say that I value teamplay. However, I can't really say that applies when I'm playing TDM on a public server with random pubbers. Frankly, when I go pubbing, I don't care if my teams wins or not. I only care about my score. In TDM, getting a good score is doing good for your team anyway. In modes like hamburger hill and siege, I make a good push for the cap points and don't just run around killing people. However, my point is that teamwork and comradeship is wasted on public servers. If you want the real deal experience, you should play with a clan with voice comms. Nutlink
I beg to differ Zoot. Teamwork isn't wasted on a pub by any means. For example, ruggbutt and I were playing a 2 on 2 match last night and we stuck together and even coordinated a little bit. We were not on comms at all. Granted the other 2 players weren't exactly top notch, we still won every round because we stuck together and watched each others backs. I noticed this happens a lot in servers with no respawns though, and not in just this game. I used to play MechWarrior Mercenaries, and even though I wasn't on comms that often, many people who played the game as no respawn coordinated with each other in various ways to overcome the other team. I have seen some mediocre players work together without voice comms and beat out all-star teams that don't coordinate. When a team resorts to everyone for themselves while the other team has some sort of teamwork they will usually lose.

I was unfortunate enough to leave the server as Zoot joined last night. Managed to catch his little rant that he couldn`t spawn until the next match though! Upto then was having some good games. The majority of people were following each other and trying to cover 1 as the other moved. After that, I had an hour or so with the 22SAS guys, they play fair and always pack a good crowd or players. For me, I would say to Zoot, go play Deathmatch. You wouldn`t be welcomed on my side playing with that attitude. Tniker
Zoot
Don't villainize me! I just speak the facts that I observed. Try going on a random pub server playing RvA. 80% of the ghost just run around deathmatching and make no effort at taking down the ADATs. I go blow up the first one after the majority of my team gets killed so they can respawn. I go to the second one and I'm killed by a defender. Nobody else even makes a push for it and I'm sitting there dead for the rest of the round. Way to repay be there, fellas. Some ghosts are even camping the Mexican spawn area to get kills for themselves. Thats public server teamplay for you. Yet I get called selfish for saying I don't care if my team loses or wins on TDM. I blame the lack of voice chat for the lack of motivation to play as a team, personally. sui317
i would say it is a mentality issue with people online, when we host a coop server and write RECON in the name and ask politely if players would go silenced, still they go off and run to the first AI to battle it out... i know from my experiance it is also which server you go to matters some servers just don't have the players you look for, sometimes you have to look for players in several rounds, so to learn what they are like and without any form of chat you can walk along cover some one and he / she will notice and repay you with that courtesy maybe since graw that does not happen so often any more i don't know but i know there are great players out there that require no comms what so ever to team play. I wouldn't say you are selfish, just that your post wasn't 100% accurate. There are plenty of times I will play in a server and nobody will be working together. I was just stating that teamwork isn't wasted on a pub. Like sui317 said too, it also depends on what server you go to. Some servers have almost zero teamwork while others heavily promote it. It all depends on where you play. As for voice comms....it would be nice to have it implemented in the game rather than having to jump TS servers when you switch servers, but it's not that bad. I just wish someone could come up with a model that would allow game devs to use the same service and just implement it into the game. Half of the work is done for them if TS were actually implemented into games I would think.
