LordArokh
Hi everybody, I've been to editoring world since GRAW1. I was able to make my own maps like you everbody. But since GRAW2 is released there are things that changed. So I've got some questions 1.Where is Load/Save menu ? How can I reload maps that I want, without exiting map editor ? 2.Where is Export menu gone ? How can we export the maps that we create ? Thx for anyone who stoped to read this post... sui317
the editor is not released and what you are working with is the incomplete/not so finished editor. the things you ask for have to come from the official release, yet unknown when that is.. GRIN_Wolfsong
1.Where is Load/Save menu ? How can I reload maps that I want, without exiting map editor ? 2.Where is Export menu gone ? How can we export the maps that we create ? 1. The menu was only available in the public version of the GRAW1 editor, never in the development version. Will not be available in the GRAW2 editor as the one released to the public will be the same as the one used by Grin during development. And you can't switch map while inside the editor. Quit [Alt + F4] Save [Ctrl + S] Load Lates Save [Ctrl + L], which reloads from the last time you saved 2. You don't export maps from the editor. That was also a feature only seen in the public version of the GRAW1 editor, never in the development version. In GRAW2 you only save the map inside the editor and setup everything else outside it, including bundeling. There will be a tutorial on this. deleyt
There will be a tutorial on this. GR1 had a very extensive and detailed tutorial PDF, explaining a lot of the built-in features of the engine and how things worked and should be put together. There were some errors in it, but it was very good. GRAW1 had tutorials. Period.....and if I'm saying that they weren't as extensive and detailed as the ones for GR1, I'm being mild. They explained VERY basic stuff and pretty much nothing about what the engine is capable of or how it should be set up. What kind of tutorial about the engine and editor can we expect from GRIN for GRAW2?
GRIN_Wolfsong
Well... GR1 tutorials started showing up with DS. Before that there was basically nothing worth looking at. And when DS came out it was a bit late as the community had already figured most of the editor out. The only tutorial that was useful was the one concerning custom maps and getting them into the engine. Anyhow. The GRAW2 tutorials describe each layer/function/file inside the editor and concerning mission scripting, custom game mode scripting, soldier/kit setup and ranks restriction setup. Custom graphics will be covered later, but works like it did in GRAW1 bascially.

GRIN_Wolfsong
Thanks for the answer......eventually Functioning custom maps for GR1, if we're talking about new landscapes and not re-textures or simply new scripts, took almost a year if I remember correctly. There was none out earlier then 9 months at least.
deleyt
Well....I'm looking forward to seeing those tutorials....preferably smaller then GR1's timespan. All at your (read: GRIN's) grace ofcourse.
