Wireless mice for gaming

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of getting a micro$oft wireless mouse for my game server, so I can control it from over here on the other side of my room without having to get off my a55. If I did, I'd be frequently using the mouse for gaming as well so I'm wondering if you ever notice a delay or lag or anything that would affect gaming?

I have no troubles with my wireless mouse except that it only works in a six foot radius from the radio signal thingy. It is acutally more like 5 feet. Once you get outside of 5 feet the mouse pointer starts to jump from one place to another instead of nice fluid movement.

I remember one time my wireless mouse wasn't working and I couldn't figure out what the problem was. I was so ###### off that I threw it around a couple of times only to realize that the radio signal thingy had just fallen behind my desk and i was to far away from it. Those little mice sure can take a beating :D

I think you can get wireless mice with a bigger radius but it just costs more. Or you could just get a usb cable extension for in between the computer and the radio signal thingy and jsut make sure that it is within 5 feet of your mouse.

I forgot to add that you could get an infared mouse instead of the radio signal one. it has a lot farther distance but it has to be pointed at the receiver like a tv remote.

I have the Logitech Optical cordless and that works fine even thru obstructions too at 20 feet :)! I know it's not the MS you mention but it offers an alternative!!

The Cordless wheelmouse (non-optical) I had before it got jumpy at over 5-6 feet and also got very jumpy if it did have anything in the way of it too, but the new one is much better and the optical one is actually better for gaming, it's more responsive with less lag if anything too :)!
