Hockeystick
I got the latest copy PC Gamer SWE today, and it has a review of GRAW2! Since I'm not a good translater I will only give you their final judgement. + Pretty + Great atmosphere + Tactical + Great sound - Buggy - Short 85%
Stormin
How much time did you give it Stormin? I have a much better system than you, and it seemed like the install froze on me twice, but if you just let it sit it should be ok. Hey Nutlink, I probably gave it a few minutes is all... I'll have another go at it when I return home from work... Maybe take a nap or something... lol Thanks for the tip....
tecmic
Allo Gringos Considering the mega download I was expecting/hoping for a longer demo Runs smoothly even on my 2Gb Athlon/1 Gb ram/ATI 1950Pro system! Graphics best I've seen except for Crysis trailers. Grin are good at this, definately a buy on the 12th Very nice but I have to agree with many of the comments so far. Team members responses a bit woolly at times. Enemy AI still not 100%. I also prefer FP helicopter insertion. Where's the cross hairs on the scope? Is night vision adjustable? It's way too bright for me, blinds me! I wouldn't be sorry if the blue circles were taken out on move locations. Maybe replaced with something less Disney or why do we need them at all. Different to have your guys on yer back for orders but I don't need the cheerleader responses.

krise madsen
Hmm, sounds promising. I guess I'll give SP and co-op a go when the full game is released. But be warned: I'm not an easy customer to please... Respectfully krise madsen
TheOwl
I think it is great. Having a blast. Just a couple things... sure wish the guys would SHUT UP if they have nothing to do and also dont need the cheerleaders Won't return fire/come out of recon when fired at....Poor Ramirez all I heard was "Captain I am taking fire" I kept thinkin FIRE BACK. Next thing I know he's dead.
Rocky
Had a quick go there, very impressed! The new mission briefing and weapon selection screens are MUCH improved, look great. The map rocks, can't wait to give it a proper run through later on, very promising though
Cangaroo.TNT
1. I like the cinematic insertion. I find it makes the beginning of the mission more dramatic & gripping. The FPS helo ride has been done to death. 2. Recon mode actually works. We were able to sneak our way below, above, and behind enemy positions and were with a few feet of the AI (harcore setting too, not just normal). 3. Foliage is great concealment. Picked off several tangos while behind/within a bush without the enemy locating my position. 4. In most cases, the enemy AI does react well once engaged. Just watch them scamper in the tacmap as they move for cover after you kill one. Yes, sometimes a few are oblivious to what is happening. 5. Friendly AI does have a few issues, but the "Attack" command actually works. In GRAW, I would issue an "Attack" command, and they would not engage unless they were already in the LOS. Now, when you issue an "Attack" command, they will seek out the target. 6. With the tacmap, you can tell the drone which direction to look. I don't know if that was the case in GRAW, but it seems to work much better now. 7. The gameplay is really tailored to the individual. I engaged enemy positions up close with intense firefights, and slowly and methodically from a distance (best stealth score so far is 83%). 8. Objectives can be completed in (almost) any order. 9. I like the banter. Some of it is annoying, but on the whole, I like it. At one point, when we had cleared most of the objectives, Brown said "I think we've run out of targets, Captain." I found that pretty amusing. Also, the "cheerleading" is more varied than what they indicated in the previews.

Fred
Want to say tks to GRIN for the realease of an sp demo...2 demos for 1 games never saw that before and I wasn't expected it.That's the part I was waitin cause I am 100% coop.I tried it and I found it too easy. The AI is zombie to me campare to [GR] coop in GRAW.The sniper on the tower was shooting at me with a pistol come on guys put a heavy sniper there at least an make the ai move more (ping-pong recon instead of guard zombie behind a sandbag)that way you dont know when they can flank you.Do ennemies AI still using the mg on the panhard well the fourth bots beside the panhard the other side of bridge are no good there(zzzzzzzzzz).I hope you change that before games comes out.Runs very smooth until text messages appears almost freeze screen for a second. The pink diamonds appear and desapear when aiming or not.Did you try the mg to shoot the baddies an the choppers on the bridge....the only thing I saw was fire in front of me can you put something to aim on it and put a overheat stopper on it ...cause I know some...gonna jump on this and shoot like crazy blind.I also shoot an AI 3 times with auto gl I saw him fell down each times and he got up man what a superhero...The positive toughts very nice map,the sky is awesome an very interesting props brushes also a very good choice of guns.Hope the campaign is as challenging as GRAW was I mean don't want to win the campaign in the first weekend. Will it be an editor when games comes out or are we gonna have to wait till a patch? Rate the demo 1.Map 9/10 2.AI team 7/10 3.AI ennemies 3/10 4.Guns 8/10 5.global 6/10 Very nice cinematics hearing the voice of AI team ask me 'capt capt capt' all the time make me feel like shout up or I killed you lol.I'll wait this time before buying it,just until I'm sure there's a map editor available...then I make my own missions and extreme firefight...gtg have a map to finish I totaly agree with what you say about the demo the only exception is i will not buy it ! cheers ! i wait for medal of honor airbones and call of duty 4 now !! bye bye grin bye bye graw ! mwgfghost
Yeah Cang the insertion style is more dramatic but I liked fast roping down myself. Made me feel like I was there. I'm a little easier to please but I'm gonna constantly hear about it from my friend. He's nearly impossible to please. Gonna be a lot of eye rolling on my part. But I really do wish they had kept it to pressing X for your own insertion. Made it so much cooler.

You're just pushing "X". But it's in first person, it feels more authentic. Right now it's more like a movie where the camera circulate around the characters etc. etc. Sure it's "GR1" but everything wasn't bad in GRAW. Some insertions in GRAW were some of the most authentic insertions in any game IMO, even more authentic than Call of Duty Like when you're fastroping right into a firefight, or when you step out of the APC at the last mission. Cangaroo.TNT
^ Yeah, I was just busting your balls, Hockey. I think both methods have their merits, but like I stated: been there, done that. I think it's too early to pass judgement. After all, it's only the first mission. We don't know how follow-up missions will be handled. On foot maybe with no cinematics? No one knows but Grin. Besides, didn't one of the "Airport" previews state that one insertion allowed for stealth while the other was in a hot LZ?
john2gr
Just finished the Mission of the demo. The ageia physics aren't being implemented with the well-known tweaks, meaning that changing two parameters in the settings.xml file won't give you extra physics. Try firing a fence in the demo and notice that an ammount of woods break after some shots. With the ageia physics every wood should brake with two-three shots according to the AGEIA video trailers we have seen. So no,the options surely say that PsyX Extreme are being used (under the Video Options) but they aren't really there. You have to tweak more parameters and i'm waiting someone show us how to take advantage of the physics without the ageia card . The shadows aren't being displayed with the ForceWare 162.15 Windows XP drivers and i haven't seen any textures problems with the ground like the one i posted before. I finished the Mission in the hardcore difficulty and it's challenging. I lost my Support guy sadly (but there wasn't any gameover like some of you were stating). The squad AI is good, nothing extraordinary but it's good and the enemy AI is pretty good. Sure you'll notice them camping but there are times that they are trying to get some cover, kill you while hiding and trying to come closer if you are stucked/pinned down. I didn't see anyone trying to flank me but overall the enemy AI is good and challenging. So i like it :D

The farthest I have made it is to the bridge objective. Once all the guys come in though, they seem to have hawk eyes and will nail ya from anywere. OH and EWWWW on the triangle on the RX4 scope.. IM gonna find a way to change it to the msg-90 crosshairs.. Edited July 6, 2007 by Evilducky
Buzz314
Ok, so far, it feels really good. Sounds are nice, environment seems more diverse than in GRAW 1, the same tactics still work (sniping with your assault rifle in single shot mode). On thing that I'm missing though is the weapon info/stats in your weapon selection screen. I want those white bars from GRAW 1 back, so you can actually compare your guns. From my experience so far, the HK 416 seems to be the best for assault rifle sniping - it deals a good amount of damage, I like its scope and it is way more stable the the Rx4 (plus, it looks better). Any other comments on the weapons so far? Buzz

Just like Rabbi said, know where your team mates are, know what weapon does what, it's not Amateur time. As for all those I need Arcade styled bars, I say give it too them but let it be switch able (off/on), I love what GRIN have done and if a 1000 arcade fans don't play, all the better for the more serious players. p.s. added: I'm not saying your a arcade fan Buzz314

Sure, like in real life military, where the SpecOps operators are told nil about things like effective range, stability & accuracy of their weapons? Come on, dude, I'm all for realistic gameplay, but I really don't see how being told how far your gun shoots comes into this. It's even less realistic NOT to know your gun stats. I don't think I said you were an arcade player and added prior to your post that fact. As for "where the SpecOps operators are told nil about things like effective range, stability & accuracy of their weapons?" you will find that any solider is made to learn everything about the weapons he/ She has to use & the weapons of the enemy too. If I'm wrong, I'd like a soldier/ex-soldier to post otherwise. In the UK that's the way, unless the USA do it diffrent. p.s. I'm referring to the point raised re: Arcade styled Power bars. mwgfghost
Yeah big viiiper in the U.K.! Bear Grylls for life! lol Seriously though Bear Grylls is my hero. Makes me proud to be part English. Anyways, I think you're right about all soldiers having to know all the statistics on their weapons. Don't think it's any different here in the U.S. I cannot get over how sweet Recon mode for friendly AI is. I had Beasley flanking a guy that had a good field of fire on me with his MG21E and Beasley was going into the road and I was like "###### are you doing don't do that!" but he was in Recon so the one guy up the road didn't see him. And after I got him back in place, I controlled him from his cross com and had him take out the guy who would have done great damage to me. I got "Man of Steel" and an S grade for perfect mission on that run so I'm definately getting used to it. I don't really mind the triangle on the RX4. But I mostly use the M416 just because it's my dream gun. What I do is have my guys set up at the bridge as I'm waiting to detonate the last artillery piece. I have em set to recon and then I tell em to cover certain areas on the bridge. Then I blow the last artillery piece, man the 50, take out the chopper, and order my team to go Assault. But back to the insertion issue. I remember seeing what looked to be a screenshot of the whole team inside a chopper. I'm hoping that first part's the only storyline type insertion. Other than that, the only things that bother me are no extra grenades or ammo for my guns and not being able to zoom in to set waypoints. Okay I didn't exactly find the pic I was looking for but this one leads me to believe that there's still hope: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/image_viewer...p;sid=undefined Edited July 6, 2007 by mwgfghost
