Poita
It's a biggie at 1.7gigs. I have a 10 gig partition on my C for widnows and the rest on a D partition and i keep all my games on a 250gig second drive. I thought 10 gigs would be enough for Windows but it's bloated out to about 8.5 gigs. I have about 1.6 gigs free space on my C: partition and when i tried to download the demo it had problems. It finally got it but when it transfered it to my dl destination on the other drive it dissapeared. All that for nothing. I'm trying again. Hope it's better than the Insurgency mod. It's ok but i'm looking foward to some good old 'Ghost Town/Tank' like open maps.
JJUK
short but sweet, very nice hopefully the gameplay will be more like that for mp mode, seems better than the demo to me anyways ,cant fault it just yet well done guys.
viiiper
I'm glad you did this ZJJ as I'm sure there will be a gaggle of threads on, my opinion is: The problems with & how I think this could be improved. Great pin. I've only played this for 20mins so far and: The AI are very good, the graphics feel awesome, the team movement is very good, the weapon response is very positive and the sight is a soldiers dream. Overall I'm loving this SP demo, I never play SP because if feels like a pre programmed event, GRAW2 SP does not. the save feature is a big plus, the sound is amazing, the colour pallet a dream and GRIN are HEROS. I need a bigger forum if this is a sample of the GRAW2 full. This will be my game to CRYSIS and even then if the MP is this good on clan servers with ANTI CHEAT, DEDICATED & USER CONTENT, this game has legs Well done "THE GRIN" A game that truly rivals the original. P.S. Double cursor bug is sorted (NO MORE) there's gonna be alot of GRIN feet kissing. 16:10 & 16:9 aspect looks good, also playing in a window (mode) is top dog. The SP game is so smooth (on a 8800GTX sys). Nice wavy flag on the Mexican post, the wind/ breeze element is a nice touch, I like the tumble weeds. The detail is better and the play feels more fluid. Nothing is perfect but this is very good, muy bueno! Grin... P.P.S. GRIN/ UBI say laptop versions are not supported, but I can tell you that the Mobile 8600GT 512Mb card is supported. I downloaded/ INSTALLED & PLAYED this on my ZEPTO 6224 http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=135521 LAPTOP PASSES I use the laptop for map editing but now even a bit of single player GRAW2 LAPTOP Zepto Znote 6224W, Santa Rosa MB, 2.4ghz dual core T7700 800Mhz FSB, 4gb 667 DDR2, Nvidia 8600M GT 512mb, 100GB 7200rpm SATA Harddisk Hitachi® , 14.1" 1440x900, 300Mbit WiFi 'N' , Bluetooth, Microsoft Vista Ultimate 32bit.SD-HD reader. http://zepto.com/country/default.aspx Graphics Cards Supported: Radeon 9700 Radeon 9800 Radeon X700 Radeon X800 Radeon X850 Radeon X1300 Radeon X1600 Radeon X1800 Radeon X1900 Radeon X1950 GeForce 6200 GeForce 6600 GeForce 6800 GeForce 7800 GeForce 7900 GeForce 7650 GeForce 8800 Laptop models of these cards are not supported. These chipsets are the only ones that will run this game. rookie
I just noticed a VERY small thing. In the Briefing screen when you want to scroll your objectives you have to use the scroll-bar. Would be nice if you can use your mouse to scroll in the briefing. Ok, maybe two, but if I could click MOUSE 2 in the Drone-view lust like my Ghosts and start watching around through the Drone would be amazing! That's about it, I'm blown away by the intense firefight I had. I have to try all the difficultys, maybe there is a way to switch off the healthbars and make it "one shot-you are dead". As I said, I have to check first if this is gone with a higher difficulty-setting. All the possibilities for your ghosts and how many ways there are to your objective. Everytime I spot one on the map I was heading for it and bam another small way through the mountains. Awesome! Besides the level-design really is nice, wide areas, see things in the distance. All in all I hereby forgot GRAW and look forward to all the things that GRAW 2 is and contains. After wanting to try a SP-Demo first to make my buy-decision my final words are: GRAW 2 PC is pre-ordered PERIOD. Way to go. Edit: I don't know what the actual release-date is supposed to be, just rembered July. For those interested, Ubi confirmed the release of the PC-version for July 12th in germany. Sunraa
I really like it. Thanks to ZJJ who informed me that it's out. I only have 2 problems with it : 1. it's too short I just started to enjoy it. 2. I didn't hear any sound on crosscom. I just saw a guy in top right corner, but i didn't hear him. GRINers, thanks a lot for this Demo. It's easier to wait now. Very easy though it will take a while for it to move it over there if that is more than a few GB's. Just rightclick on you 'my Documents' folder --> 'properties'--> 'change location' and Bob's your Uncle! Bota:16
I am not much of a SP guy but did enjoy it. I like the ability to turn off the hit the indication to get rid of big red blob. For some reason I can only choose 'genereic software' in the audio setup. The level design is great and I can't wait for more MP maps when the full game comes out, especially for the Recon vs. Assault gamemode. The whole ordering/planning interface seems very well thought out as it isn't difficult to use even on the first try. Choosing different insertion points and operatives is a definate plus. Great job so far GRIN, looking forward to the full release. Edited July 5, 2007 by Bota:
Hockeystick
Great demo! The AI is very good really. Just a few minor issues but overall it's way better than GRAW1. Like Rookie said, free look for the drone would be great, but I would also like free look for my teammates at all time. That is, you don't have to bring up the order menu to get free look. Noticeable blood splat when you shoot someone I think I know what the new cover-thing is (AI only). Video Or did that already exist in GRAW1? charliebrownau
Unimpressed with GRAW2 PC SP Demo before even loading the game the setup program needs fixing since its BLOATED (just like the MP Demo was) Sure support Multi-language support but why install a whole bunch of stuff just to use up your hdd space . path:\GRAW2 SP Demo\Support\Manual\ Why install non english manuals when I only speak english The setup program should ASK what language support you want , not install everything on the hdd path:\GRAW2 SP Demo\Support\Register\RegistrationReminder.exe This file is yet again added , why make the MP and SP Demo support a Rego Reminder , this is a free demo NOT THE RETAIL FULL FINAL PAY game , no need to nag people to rego for a demo path:\GRAW2 SP Demo\Support\DirectX\ Old edition of DX9c , should be the July 2007 or June 2007 one another 40 meg to waste path:\GRAW2 SP Demo\Support\Acrobat\ 100 meg of wasted download/space , I and a lot of people DO NOT want to use bloated Adobe Reader in english or non-english editions . Instead supply Foxit PDF Reader or Sumatra PDF path:\GRAW2 SP Demo\Support\Ageia\ Yet again another waste of hdd space , a 36 meg file which a lot of us got from downloading the MP Demo Yet again a file that wants to be installed without CHOICE , no point installing this when you dont have the hardware card to suit the driver , its like installing a ATI video driver if you have a Nvidia card path:\GRAW2 SP Demo\Support\Ageia\Gamespy This is a SINGLE PLAYER Demo , why have internet crap bundled with it ? Once the demo is installed , i checked a few of the config files to lower the graphics settings I came IGA is turned ON by default in the SP demo just like the MP Demo G:\Games\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 Demo SP\context.xml advertisements value="true" changed to advertisements value="false" Once in the game . Setting up my controls and video/sound settings could not find DISABLE MUSIC or Music off choice , so like most players reduce the volume to zero but the music still probly plays just at 0 level Impression in game : * Its good having multiple start points * The little blue circle is good , humans will finaly be able to work out where the AI is spoze to move to * Team mate CPU AI seem a little bit better then before * Bad guy AI still seem to have a uniform which bends in too much * The game still screams console colour scheme like orange and brown were on special and no one could afford other colours * I like the org gr1 section in the begining of the screen were you can select the guns of yourself and ai team mates 1.83 gig used for a single level of the game ? Seem bloated ?? Still no LAN coop to judge if the game is worth supporting in the retail product as I hardly ever play SP

viiiper
Well, for those of us still at work, is it tactical? It feel solid Kangaroo, it feels like a new flavoured [Ghost Recon]. As for charliebrownau with 5 posts, whats the beef with HD space in the terra bytes these days most PC users have at least 80GB. Most modern games are 5Gb. You'll never please everyone, even with something as good as GRAW2 SP. I thought someone was going to say 16:10 & 16:9 support is good. GRAW2 SP includes a new game mode: Tumble weed football
Demanufakture
Has anyone tried the demo with the new official beta driver 162.18 for XP from nvidia at www.nzone.com ? Are there any issues? I am still downloading so I don't know if they work with the demo yet.
charliebrownau
In my gaming rig I only have ONE 80 gig drive . Still it shouldnt matter how much hard drive space a person has , thats no reason for company's to keep on making games more bloated . Also the Ageia PhysX driver should NOT be a required install when you dont even have an overpriced PhysX card in the computer . Also games should give users the choice do they want to install Single player , MP and co-op or just co-op and Multi . viiiper: If you want I could make more posts , whats wrong a small amount of posts . Poita
I am impressed. The mp demo of GRAW2 was sluggish on my oldish pc but the sp one runs fine. I have an athlon 2 gig, 1 gig ram and a Nvidia 7600. I run the game on 1280 1024 with textures to medium and the game runs very smooth. Gun movement is smooth too which is very important to me. It's much improved on GRAW i think. That mission give me a feel for the older Delta force games with some precission desert action. I enjoyed it alot. This is definitly a game i'll buy on release day. I'm really looking forward to playing GRAW in the open air. I hope many of the MP maps are like that too. The enemy AI after all these years of games is still stupid. I kill a bunch of guys and a guy 5 feet away still walks around casually patrolling. The tema mates are annoying with their comments if i don't take them allong. The sound is skittish. Very nice as always with GRAW but my gun sound cuts out now and again depedning on whats happening on screen and sometiems the echo to my right etc of a grenade i through ahead is louder than the initial explostion. Still, GRAW/1/2 has the best game sound of any game i've played.
viiiper
There's nothing wrong with a few posts, just like there's nothing wrong with a modern game installing 5GB, that was really my point. A game is what it is, not padded with dummy files but files that are required and for the full audience.
Cangaroo.TNT
I don't want to speak for viiiper, but I think of all the potential aspects of a game you could criticize, you seem to have picked what some would consider to be the most inconsequential. But, since this thread is about SP feedback, let's try to keep bickering to a minimum. I don't think ZJJ wants to lock her own thread! Dude... high quality sound and high quality graphix take up space. I'm not sure how efficent they are with compression of files and cleaning up any trash left behind in their bundles but I think it's a streach to call this bloatware. Hard disk space is CHEAP, skip lunch and buy a bigger disk. Sorry for the off topic, I couldn't help myself. charliebrownau
Had another go at the demo , the team mate AI needs a bit of work thats for sure . I placed them in safe locations and targetting some AI up in a building . I then run to a better building to shoot some of them and the targets are now de selected one of the ai is bitching about he can see guys ,So i throw a genade at a group of 3 ppl I see so what does he do , gets in the road of me throwing the genade , it goes off target , almost gets him , then he walk in the middle of the open road so like 5 bad guys can shoot him and clear aim of a guy with a machine gun and dies . REAL BRIGHT TEAM MATE AI , Great work following issues and staying still. Time to un-install the SP demo and wait till the coop demo comes out or the retail .
