Auto Player Kick

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if it will be possible to set up an auto kicking feature for high ping players that join a server?

YES: it's in the code of the multiplayer XML I posted in another thread !

You can search for it.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

My thoughts exactly, but for myself, I'm just in limbo with all the threads on threads....

sb_server_settings.xml

in seconds

<!-- Kick for idle, not implemented -->

<var name="auto_kick" type="boolean" default="false" />

<var name="auto_kick_time" type="number" default="240" />

in effect this defines the amount of time the server waits before kicking player (for lag)

<var name="max_move_without_ack_time" type="number" default="2" />

(Seconds) How long a player may keep moving without server verification.

Lower will make it harder for cheaters and people with bad connections -->

NEXT TIME you will have to do the leg work :D

I just hope most people have sense to set it to 300+ because with the net code as is even people pinning into the high 200's don't have a lag advantage.

LOL :o the value is in SECONDS

I also hope that server admins will set this "ping kick" to something slightly over 300 mS(0.3 seconds). Otherwise any Aussies (and no doubt other nationalities as well) playing the game can forget about staying on a server for long.

From what I have seen in GRAW and GRAW2, there doesnt seem to be a problem until the pings hit 400 mS or worse. Of course those of you playing with <100 mS might have noticed something different, however my ability to kill and be killed doesnt seem to vary much till the ping rises to around 400.

Well seeing as I never played GRAW1 cause it sucks and I've never taken a look at any of the server files I wouldn't know that it's different.
