Cell
Yup, after I noticed that the update had finally dl'd and installed (status was on "Waiting" for most of the night), I relaunched GRAW2 and CTD 2 times. I happened to be going to bed at that time, so I really didn't continue on with it. Will check it again tonight. So I have to unload xfire to run GRAW2 now. Arg. they will get it. Just not so far. 2. Note that 1.79 patch for xfire has been downloaded to your machine, and yet the "about" menu clearly shows we are running 1.78 (taek a look for yourself). This implies that the install possibly failed or has not happened yet. but If i look in th file where games are listed (the xfire.ini thing) it is clear that Graw2 was added. So now im really confused. i was running 1.78 before we made these requestes. we downloaded 1.79 but our system still reports 1.78. hmmm..... confused. Also, if you go tot their website and download the newest version, it is listed as 1.78 from july 12th. I'm still confused. Wy do we all have 1.79 in our pre downloaded bin and why do we already show file support for our GRAW2 in the xfire_Game.ini if in fact, the game version hasnt moved forward since july 12th? something is out of sync and brooken.... Sleepdoc-iBeta
yea. some sort of support magically appeared without any unpdate in the version number (1.78) even though the 1.79 version got downloaded. i'm suspecting a flaw in their first attempt at support (multiple xfire crashes now when trying to play GRAW2) and I'm suspecting a possible mis fire within their auto update from 1.78 to 1.79... "about" menu still reads 1.78 ... even though some sort of gRAW2 support appeared ... Something is a miss.

The basically took the ini entry for GRAW1 and copied for GRAW2 and it just doesnt work. If they had tested it at all they would have had the problem. After having another fiddle myself Ive changed the entry from what it was to this [5097] LongName=Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 ShortName=graw2 LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ubisoft\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2\InstalledPath LauncherExe=graw2.exe Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS% InGameRenderer=D3D9 InGameFlags=DISPATCH_CONURE_MESSAGES
[xfire]b4it
Hey guys. We are now aware that some people are having issues with Xfire In-Game with GRAW2. If you are experiencing these crashes, you can remove In-Game via the following: Tools > Options > Click on GRAW2> check "Disable Xfire In-Game" This will still allow for detection and gameplayed tracking until we are able to remedy this issue. Thank you, [Xfire]b4it
Tinker
I can confirm that this works! Make sure you highlight GRAW2 to be able to check the "Disable Xfire In-Game" Box Thnx for the update [xfire]b4it Good luck with figuring it out. Tinker *EDIT* Games been fine for 20+ Mins, good stuff! Anyone has issues, let us know, I`ve off for a while.
Sleepdoc-iBeta
FYI everybody, Desrats tweak above works better than Xfires first attempt, but it does not work. Ill explain. I can now get into the interface with Desrats edit, and xfire works there, but any attempt to enter the 3d world takes me to desktop. boom. Crash to desktop wiht a xfire error window. I won't upload that bug report to Xfire becuase it represents a bug generated by Desrat's script. I don't want to confuse them. So keep working on it xfire. And thanks for showing up in our forums. That is very cool to see you here communicating with us. Sleepdoc Edited July 20, 2007 by Sleepdoc

Desrat
I notice some people are having a few probs with copy/pasting and lines getting split etc so heres a zip containing the actual fixed ini file.. Backup your original if you want to be double sure http://www.desrat.lightning-bolt.net/GRAW/xfire_games.zip Edited July 20, 2007 by Desrat
Sleepdoc-iBeta
OK. Here was the issue. There is one line in Desrat's tweak which is too long to fit on one line in a small notepad window. you have to make sure the line is kept as one singple line. Otherwise, notepad will split the line into 2 lines, and add an "enter" in between the lines. so you have to use your backspace key to restablish that long line ot being one line, and still making sure the spaces between words are correct. The line in question for me WAS... LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ubisoft\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2\InstalledPath it was so long it broke into 2 lines and i guess i saved it as 2 lines. Finally, i am still crashing. but only on exit from the game .... once it doesn't really matter. So it is still not perfect, but its fine for the moment.. Keep working on it xfire please..... Rocky
Okay, just to throw a spanner in the works. I am on XFire v1.78, and it works flawlessly with GRAW2. In the advanced settings there is nothing ticked or disabled or GRAW2. Dunno why it is crashing for you folks
DonnieDarko*AFZ*
Mine's doing the same, toucan error. Might be a dll. Going to attempt installing xfire over itself to see if that helps. If that fails I'll try complete xfire reinstall. And post back if it works.
DonnieDarko*AFZ*
Well that didn't work lol Install over put me back without the 19th July update so GRAW wasn't even detected. And complete reinstall, downloaded the 19th's update immediately, but now the game just closes after the load videos.
