is there a way to view the precise gun stats used in the game model? are there chr / atr/ whatever files i can open with notepad and check out the stats or is there a igor-like program that does that? thanks for any help and again, sorry if this is a dup message.

hitman thats a very cool tool. it should be noted that u need the microsoft .net frame whatever thingy installed as well as the latest service pack.

i got questions about the *.gun and *.prj files themselves. specifically, what some of these parameters mean...

weight -- what measurement is this in?

maxrange -- i assume this is in meters?

velocity coefficients -- what are these?

kill coefficients -- what are these?

turnbandvelocities and turnbandmultipliers -- what are these?

stabilization time -- time for rets to close? in seconds?

weaponmotiontype -- what is this?

muzzleflashscale -- how big of a flash the gun sets off?

tracerfrequency -- interval of each tracer?

airresistanceconstant -- the aerodynamics of the projectile? closer to 1 = perfect aerodynamics?

delaytime -- in seconds delay before explosion once contact is made or once fired?

initialvelocity -- in meters / second?

blast radius -- in meters?

combatcoefficients -- what are these?

sorry for being such a pain. anyw help greatly appreciated!

Sigh...

Look up at the top of this forum, in the 'weapons factory' thread.

thanks parabellum that is an excellent report!

i am still unclear on some specific stuff...

1) how do the zoom parameters come into play with respect to the gun's max range? ergo, despite a very long range, if you got no zoom, theres really no point in terms of accuracy, no?

2) what are these velocity coefficients about? my impression is the 1st coefficient is the initial velocity out of the muzzle. the other 2 are??

3) what do these accuracy indications reflect? the greater the #, the more accurate?

thanks a lot sorry bein such a pain.

Well, it's been a long time since I fooled with GR stuff, but here's the rundown:

1) Zoom doesn't affect max range or kill power at all.

2) The first velocity coefficient is muzzle velocity, in meters/second. The last two are simply factors in the equation that establish the velocity curve.

3) On the accuracy table in IGOR, the smaller the number, the better.

:)
