check6 0
Hi, i just ordered a pair of 3D glasses of "edimensional". I just wanted to know, if anybody tried these glasses playing GR or R6. http://www.edimensional.com/Merchant2/agen...&S=edimensional I read some nice reviews regarding the use of these glasses with Operation Flashpoint and some flight sim's. Hopefully it will suck me deep, deep, deep in my monitor. greetings c6
Rocky 1,224
Hi Check I hope you used the link from our news page, that's what keeps us going Anyway... I have a review set on route to me now, so we will post a review next month sometime, but yeh I read good things about it too. I did hear one concern that perhaps the reticles were a little tricky to see with the glasses - if you get your before me, post your opinion back here. According to e-dimensional they were certified by Ubi Soft, although when I asked about that they said it was all done internally. I hope they as are good as they sound, let us know! check6 0
Hi Rocky, well, yesterday i recieved my pair of glasses. Unfortunately i have not found the time to set them up properly. First impressions -First impression at all: during the install they show you the picture of a 3-dimensional screen with a dragon. When you use your glasses this dragon neither seems to be on the flat screen nor in the monitor BUT IN FRONT OF THE MONITOR. Pretty cool stuff. -Second: i tried playing ghost recon with the glasses and i experinced a similiar "in depth" feeling like experienced with the dragon pic. The landscape seemed to reach into my monitor. Remarkable are the explosions of grenades (try it). Unfortunately nothig goes as planed, new hardware, new problems: During the install of the software new nvidia drivers have been installed and ghost recon needs really old drivers to run properly on my pc (AMD 1800, 650 Meg' RAM, Geforce 2 MX 32 Meg's). As aresult i'm facing now a few problems regarding the graphics in GR (flashes on which the textures are not drawn - hmm i hope you understand what i mean). Another problem is the flickering of the screen. In the manual edimensional says that these are the results of Win XP and Win 2000 and that the problem can be solved with a Nvidia Refresh tool. I tried but it got worse. This is the status 12:00 p.m. yesterday evenig. I'm looking forward solving my prob's this evenig in a few hours (and perhaps tommorow ) and getting a new gaming experience this weekend. Hope it's gonna rain this weekend! Greetings C6
Rocky 1,224
Thanks for the info, if you can get the setup sorted out - they sound great! Hopefully mine will be here soon, and we can compare setup notes and see if we can get you sorted out with that flickering issue.
firefly2442 0
Yeah, in one review I read they said that you might have to install older video drivers for it to work. They also said that it was very hard to see the reticle and that the reticle was not "3D" so it looks out of place. One option is turning off the reticle but then gaming would be pretty hard.... Is it cool using it for other things like web surfing or watching video or anything?
check6 0
Hi firefly, at this early stage i can not really judge how it is working on 2D screens like web sites but i suppose it no effect. Just flickering greetings c6 P.S. keep your fingers crossed that it's gonna be rainy weekend (20 hours of gaming a day )!

the.ronin 5
daaaaannnngggg check6, that sounds fila fresh man! thanks a lot for taking the time and posting all that stuff when i first saw the link on the news page (its been there a while), i figured, BAH, gimmick!!!! you should get a supervisor /tier 2 tech on the line and mention, in passing, that you are also "getting help" from major gaming forums who are asking your advice on it. i bet that'll get them to turn the attention level up a notch the rets thing sounds like a major downer though but i doubt i would ever use it when playing "for real." sounds very very cool otherwise. check6 0
Some useful links: if you're trying to use the glasses of e-dimensional with an ATI Card you will probably facing some problems. Perhaps the following links will provide some answers (GUESS WHY I KNOW THESE LINKS - CRAP ) ***NEW*** ATI users send an email to drivers@eDimensional.com to obtain the patented new E-D stereo drivers for non-nVidia cards. Be sure to include your order number in your email. http://forums.stereovision.net www.win3d.com
