Top-Gunna
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce 6800 XT 256mb Ram: 1.5 Gigs Processor: AMD XP + 3200 I don't know why, but when I start a single player or MP game, it runs for 5 minutes, then crashes. I have done everything recommended from various supports, but still no luck. When the game does crash, it only says that the program has encountered an error and needs to shut down. HELP! NoQuarter
Well as you have probably read it could be any number of things, but to start; How many processes are running in the background of the OS, what ForceWare version is driving your GPU, is the game patched up to date, any mods installed, has the game ever been stable on your system, and have you un/reinstalled the program on a clean slate? http://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=36140
Top-Gunna
ForceWare: 93.71 I actually have a lot of processes running in my OS, I don't know what ones to close because I never shut any of them down. The game is patched. There are no mods. This is the first time its on my system. And I have reinstalled on a clean state. Edit: The demo of this game ran fine. Edit2: I closed almost all of my background tasks, still no luck Edited May 31, 2007 by Top-Gunna
sgt.hoot
err get a new vid card i got a 7600 seems to barely run i have so many enhancement mods but still never crashes for me lets maybe start with is it a DL version or disk version perhaps its corrupt? try to close as many programs as possible ur card is probobly overheating and causing the game to just....stop or try turning down the graphics and see if it crashes again -.-

sgt.hoot
i dont think defraggin will help for games that saves disk space...idk i got a 500 GB HDD so i never worry
Sup
The demo worked? Did the game crash before you patched it? If you patched it immediately, you may want to reinstall and try running it straight from the box. I know it's somewhat unlikely, but I've had situations where patches introduced elements that would make games crash on my computer.
Forrester
as far as I can see the game should run, at least on minimum setting, the processor is teh weakest link, the 6800 is despite the 6 series quite a good graphic card (don't get the 7600 since that is a very small step upwards....) If you have a clean system and this game still crashes there is something wrong, test you rig, memory and graphic card, or try installing a soundblaster if you use onboard sound, that might help release the processor from sound..... so it might run a bit better Good luck
