The game has a huge following and there are always a lot of people online playing http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/socomco...amp;tag=nl.e513 This game is going to be online only. This should be good in that they will only have to use their resources to that side of the game. There is a video on the page to the right with a teaser demo of the game. It has poor resolution, but the map they are playing on looks exactly like the map "crossroads" in socom II. Looks to be another great socom game in the series. en4rcment 0 Posted May 18, 2007 Share Posted May 18, 2007 This game spells the death of PS3. For most gamers there are only two reasons to buy a PS3...the Metal Gear series and the Socom series. I know that it is still very early into production, but the released trailer ( http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=4856 ) was absolutely awful. Sure The lines are smooth but there is no realism there. These do not look like my SEALs. Also, I have no time for online gaming now. Single player campaigns are all I get to play. They have turned SOCOM into Americas Army. I, for one, have always personally enjoyed sneaking my teams into proper tactical positions and completing the missions with as much stealth as possible. Now the SOCOM franchise will be as generic as the rest of the shoot 'em up titles out there. You'll have 11 y/o kids fragging their teamates/Spending a whole game hiding behind the same rock or door/Killing people just to grab their weapons/etc etc... Very disappointing that such a fun and innovative series seems destined to remake itself into a generic online shooter with cute graphics. Count me out! Quote Link to post Share on other sites
