Just bought the US retail game. 1.06 is impressive!

Running 1024x768 everything maxed 10k view distance and fps arent to bad

Running 1680x1050 everything low and more then 45fps

all on a 7900GS

the AA this game uses is great 1024x768 although not my native resolution looks great nice and sharp still!

I tried the first ArmA demo a while back, i was not 100% sure what to think about the demo tbh & i was not too sure if i would like the full game at all, anyway i decided to purchase a copy of the full game last friday and i'm glad i did, although it took a while to download two patches, which if i remember correctly they were not far off a gig of files. So yeah i'm realy enjoying the game, well worth 20 notes. The one thing that bothered me at first was ..no matter if i had low graphics settings or very high settings and low view distance at 1024x768@85Hz (CRT) ..performance was about equal on a e6600 @2700mhz + 8800ultra@650/2220 + 2gbyte ram + SB X-FI em. I'm sure and i think i still am but not 100% sure that Vertical sync is forced on by default? and you all know well that this setting can and does greatly reduce the framerate in games. So what i did was to open up nvidia control settings / panel and globaly Force off Vertical sync and also in the Armed assault program settings (ArmA exe) i enabled Force off vertical sync, and to me the performance of gun movement in game feels better, i feel more in control of the weapons ..well at least i think i do, maybe others will agree or not. I know setting the view distance too high can hammer framerate on my rig. Anyway i am pleased with the game, i reckon the developers did a great job.

I downloaded and tried Armed Assault and I like what I see so far.

But my current video card just can't handle the game so I haven't really formed an opinion on it. My video card is integrated with the motherboard and is an NVIDIA GeForce 6100 GPU + nForce 410 MCP chipset. I know I need something new if I ever want to really try this game.

It's a good game, lot's of mods to try out, i'm trying out Chammys Sound mod, Matt_ArmAEffects, SixthSense Blood, SIX_CRDS etc very cool, the screenshots below are from a user made mission "Operation Burning Sun" ..like a lot of the maps in ArmA they are vast, open ended, long shot style, cqb, excellent desert terrain detail, great town/city details too, most places are accessible, immersive, realistic feel, some great battles can be had.

I turned the graphic settings all the way down to the lowest levels and was able to try out the demonstrative version of Armed Assault. The aiming is very realistic and I like other features of the game a lot.

If I purchase another gigabyte of random access memory I think it will run quite decently on my computer. I think I will purchase the game in the future once I save enough money.

Just want to show you a movie made by sin329 and uploaded to youtube.

BHD ArmA movie

Watch it a tell me if it's not great. Lots of animations used on this, ...

The movie is really awesome and looks great. The gunfire sounds aren't very good in my opinion. Sounds like firecrackers going off a lot of times.

Yeah could be, when i watched it first time was at work with no sound :D

Then at home i just checked the music, didn't take care of gunfires. I was looking the animations used and trying to remember similitudes between the movie scenes and the video.

There are few sound mods out for the game which look great. At this point I'm trying the Chammy's one. Many times I'm scared listening all the bullets around me and find me rolling on the ground trying to escape :D.

Here is a video with this sounds:

(still beta status, and this is from old version i guess)

Dear Lord! Those tanks sounded AND FELT inside my room.

Wish I could play this game, but saving my pennies for another game. When it drops it's price, I might pick this one up.
