Might check if UBI.com has released another Lobby Update/Patch. I know they went patch happy a while ago.

But I agree with NC. Stay away from UBI and join Direct IP games, or ASE. Look at our Games Room for Direct IP.

The UBI software is very twitchy when Firewalls are in use if that applies to you, ESPECIALLY the patcher.....

Either completely allow the patcher full access or at least use a liberal filtering rule whilst it patches and then return it to normal settings or turn ya Firewall off completely. After patching it works better but some Firewalls can still be problematic with it, if ya Firewall software allows you to set different filtering rules for different Apps then again, set them to filter liberally for the UBI software or off completely for the UBI software and that could well help :)!

Not perfect but at least it will get you gaming if you don't want to install stand alone software to play it etc or need a fix until you do get something more suited blah blah lol :)!

i actually never have problems with firewalls - i use zonealarm in w2kpro. for good measure, u might wanna check off "behind firewall" in your gr menu options. also, ive heard problems with xp's built in firewall vis-a-vis gr.

if all u are experiencing is a mad delay in the ubi connection where it ultimately says "could not connect" and pops up a login window, that is most likely just the crapiness that is ubi. you may want to make sure you are not deleting your ubi lobby whatever plugin -- i do notice that after scrubbing my hd (from all manner of incriminating evidence), ubi tends to delay in loading up and often times has to re-download that plugin.

it can be used unregistered, indefinately.

I'd suggest you try it for a while & see if you don't wanna support their efforts :D ... imo, i think it's $10 well spent to encourage this type of user friendly effort.
