Aggressor 0
Many people have asked me why i chose nursing. I have been trying to get a hold of the Johnson & Johnson commercial and I finally found it. Johnson & Johnson This sums up why i chose nursing.
the.ronin 5
ive had a lot of exposure to the deal market (buying & selling of companies) in the healthcare staffing business. it kills me to no end how badly fragmented it is and i think that fact is directly attributable to the dire shortage of skilled nurses here in the u.s. ergo, the mechanisms upon which they are staffed are highly inefficient. ashamed since thats a ridiculously high margin business. i take my hats off to J&J for pushing a very brave ad campaign (since it does not directly benefit them). kaiser permanente is also plastering towns with billboards trying to promote nursing. there needs to be more done. i know its gotten so bad that the "foreign sponsorship" of nurses is quite common place now. Cpl Ledanek 247
I blame the "few" nurses that got all high and mighty with their business degress in health care managements. Their looking at their staff as "resources" and patients as "customers." I work in the health field too, as an radiographer. We too have "few" radiographers that got all high and mighty with their business degress in health care managements. They also count radiographer as "resources." Patients are often scheduled to certain number of procedure rooms, i.e 12 rooms, but management neglects that there are often only 1 or 2 radiographers. That translate to: 12 rooms= 12patients, 6:1 ratio given there often only 1 radiographer. And management blames us when "customers" complaints that they waited for their exams to be done...well duh, the radiographer IS with a "customer." Hospitals and their Management system network, i.e Kaiser, Rush, etc...need to confess that their are REALLY a "FOR profit" organizations. There is a tax-shelter for being a NON-PROFIT organization, but dont drop the bombs on the nurses, radiographers, respiratory techs, lab techs, etc... I wish Fuji, Agfa, Curix, Kodak, Siemens, Phillips too produce a commercial for radiographers. We too have shortages. my 2 cents
