Brettzies
It would not be worth it to seperate them for me. They were not created that way to begin with so, only the m4a1 could be seperate. It would require doing the m16a4 over seperately. I just ran every type of server(through internet) and the weapons always came up. However, only one person joined. I asked them to select one of the weapons, but got no response. He just left after a few minutes, maybe he couldn't or didn't have them, but he didnt' even answer, so I have no idea. If you want to try some things, here's a guess. I changed all of my weapon id's to be easier to organize. This doesn't appear cause any problems, but who knows, maybe it freaks out online if there's a huge gap or something. weapon_data.xml Change the m4 to weapon_id = "43", and the m16 to weapon_id = "44" . To quickly test it, get rid of all the mod attachments, called mo_id (this will get rid of the ironsights as well though). Otherwise, you will have to renumber all of them, and that will get tricky. Also, remove the acog from the scars and crye. It should be easy to spot, since it's a 12xx number. mod_data.xml find where the bp_mxxxx_xxxx stuff starts and ends. Then put <!-- before the first entry, and --> after the last one. That should essentially tell the game not to use them. That may upset the game because of stuff in the unit files, but I think it should be fine. Let me know if that works or does not, and thanks for testing it if you guys have the time to try that. bat21
So far so good, I changed the ID as mentioned, then I changed the MOD id to 60 for iron site. One problem it the Iron sight is coming up Combat sight. But so far, changing the ID's worked. Thanks for the help. Will test more as I go along. I am slowing changing the MOD id's to lower numbers and it seems to be working.

I am slowing changing the MOD id's to lower numbers and it seems to be working. LOL, that's both good and bad. Good that it worked, bad that i can't use my number scheme to make things easier. As for ironsight, the mod id are numbered differently. I believe new ones should start at 18. The m16v1 mod ids will have to start at 24, and the sacr/crye acogs will be last. The ironsight should be set to default, which makes it non-selectable, but comes up if nothing is selected. Are you saying it worked online? Or that you only got the ids to change correctly? I would still like to try joining someone who has the mod unaltered so I can see what the problem is for my own eyes. Renumbering the mod individually is bound to cause problems, so I will have to fix it eventually if that is the solution. bat21
I am currently on the "TheGamerPlanet [GR] Server" I am testing the New ID changes. I will change the MOD id's in a bit, So far they are working online. If you don't have the map, it is on Fast Downloads. Brettzies
For the people having online issues. Is the server running the mod clean? On one, I noticed that people had primary weapons as secondary weapons, indicating there is something not normal going on in the first place with weapon ids. This could cause problems if you are tyring to run this mod while the server is running something else. It's best for the server to have the same game files as you. Ok, I see the problem now, but I'm not exactly sure of to fix it. However, it could be the id things. I'm going to set them back for the next release, but if anyone gets it working by trying to set them back themselves, let me know. Thanks. Thanks for your help showing me what was wrong. I will release a little patch for this with corrected numbers. I'm kind of disappointed that I can't use my number scheme though, and here i was thinking I was being super clever and making it easier to combine. Grrrrrrrinnnnnnnnnn! bat21
After using the patch you gave me there were a few issues. On the M16, if you choose the Silencer or the Gl or Handrail, It enables the Lower Rail and it is Vertical on the tip of the gun. If you remove the rails to fix the issues, it causes crashes. Maybe If I remove the Rails from the addons it may fix this. I have been at it for 6 hours and I am bushed. I will try again tomorrow. Other than that it works and I had 2 guys help test it and they can see the gun and addons.

Now you know what I go through trying to make these into the game in the first place ; ) It seemed to work fine for me. However, when I picked the ScarL w/Acog in your test server, it gave me a guard cover, not sure which one. But, when I run the game locally or my own server it seemed fine. Remember to put the files in both places. I'm quessing there is a mismatch in the numbers. Your ded server and your local gameplay folder have to have the same numbers. When you're tired, it's easy to make little mistakes, lets hope that's all it was.

Sometimes I stay up all night trying to debug this stuff - like those damn icons. I want to get back to my "special" weapon, but I will see if you're in too, because I want people to be able to use this fully in anyway they choose! bat21
Adding the Files to the server makes no difference, All the M4 stuff works, Its the M16 and the Rails that are causing the trouble. I am going to try the M4 addons to the M16 and see what happens. I have always had the MODDING bug, This one is a challenge worth conquering. Good job at fixing it though you 2. I was going to release a patch with the ids changed back to the normal sequence. Everything seemed ok to me but Bat21 is having some issues. I can't connect to his server to check it out. Keeps saying my cd-key is rejected. Also, in the patch I made, some things are re-ordered differently then what I posted earlier. Brettzies
Mini Patch: v2.1 patch moddb This renumbers the ids in an attempt to fix the quirky errors with four digit ids. To work properly both server and client should have the same xmls. Results have varied. Give it a go and let me know if it works. Evilducky
I took out the guard rails, and just used the add ons from the M4 (before you released this one) and they work just fine.
Brettzies
I took out the guard rails, and just used the add ons from the M4 (before you released this one) and they work just fine. You can do that, but the m203, foregrip, and silencer, won't line up exactly correct. They'll be a little off or have gaps. The top attachments were already using the m4 attachments. Could you try the patch and see if causes any problems for you? Let me know if you have a server up too. I wasn't able to join bat's server to check. I'm not exactly sure what effect taking out the rail guards will have on other players. I suggest if you want to take out the gaurd rails, you should do it in the weapon_data.xml only. They are the last entries for the m16: <mods front="true" top="true" bottom="true"> <mod mod_id="18" default="1" /> <mod mod_id="19" /> <mod mod_id="20" /> <mod mod_id="33" /> <mod mod_id="34" /> <mod mod_id="35" /> <!-- <mod mod_id="24" /> <mod mod_id="25" /> <mod mod_id="26" /> <mod mod_id="27" /> <mod mod_id="28" /> <mod mod_id="29" /> <mod mod_id="30" /> <mod mod_id="31" /> <mod mod_id="32" /> --> </mods> Whatever works for you and lets you enjoy the mod is best though. I just don't want people to have to hack it together, not everyone is into messing with the xmls to get things working.
Evilducky
yeah I tried the patch, the silencer on the m16 is messed up. If you chose it, and then hit done, then go back into the inventory, its all messed up like bat21 said. But it does work in other servers. Also jump on IM tomorrow and well get a server up for you, and if aussies up for hosting, you will see some pretty damn good modding that hes done. bat21
I created a test server your more than happy to use. If you want to try it PM me for password and Evil if you want to have ADMIN to change server settings so things go smoothly, You can have that as well. Let me know what files you need. I tried with both the Files on the server and off the server and both resulted in the same effect. We also have a TS server for our gaming commuity. I can give the IP and we can use that. I worked on it all night and got nowhere. But this damn MOD is calling my name to fix it for all. I tried the same thing an removed the Rails and it worked but didn't line up. It seems the M16 addons are the culprit. Edited April 15, 2007 by Bat21
Evilducky
Well, we will get the three of us into a teamspeak tomorrow and we will get it right. You 2 might get it fixed before I can get in, I gotta work from 1130 - 6, then im going to watch that ATHF movie, but when get home and its not fixed we will def. get it done. Brettzies
I wonder if the game is just limited to a certain number of addons / weapons. Lame if it is because I have another one coming. Are there any server files that rearrange things that you guys know of? Seems like what is happening is that mod attachment ids are being lost somehow or reordered. But everything works great in sp and coop, or if you create the server yourself, so I'm at a loss. Using the m4 attachments is not a solution to me, just another workaround. It's great if you guys enjoy it still, but I want it to work correctly. @Bat, I think I have the password, but every time I tried to connect I kept getting a cd-key reject error. Thanks for trying it out guys. I hope GRAW2 has a little better mod support because this is ridiculous.

Mother
Hmm, all of my screenshots are in .TGA format. You might be looking at the wrong things. If you can, open them in photoshop or some kind of image editor and save them as a jpeg.
