Registration phase starts 11 Apr for MP beta test

Recommended Posts

Sign up on gamespy? that means we need a regular gamespy account? as opposed to ubi signup?
On the registration form your Ubi.com login, Ubi forum screenname, & GameSpy login were required.

I think by now I've probably violated the NDA, so a slot just might be opening up.

;)

I hope that is the gamespy GRAW login and not a Gamespy arcade login. (the 2 can't be the same)

So I'm still confused. Where do I go to apply. I followed the link, but all I see is a news story about teh registration having begun. Nothing on how to actually apply?

Those who beta tested the GRAW pacth gets an invitation by mail.

Dont think that is true, I beta tested patches, but no email here. :(

Yea , same here.

That's odd

In the mail they say, As a token of our appreciation for your interest in our games and your participation in the previous beta test of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, we are glad to invite you to take part in this closed beta test for GRAW2 PC.

Shouldn't all beta testers get this mail?

One would think so. I got mine this morning.

Seriously i can. We hosted for MP2 and MP3 for about 5 or 10 peeps that were testing(although it can hold over 20). It helps us go over things a lot easier.

Well I wasn't being sarcastic about that, I was just saying that even if you didn't get in, you wouldn't mind 'doing a service', i.e. hearing in on all the latest details.

Actually no i wouldn't be able to as the testers would know if i joined. Basically the TS also would be passworded and it's not listed anywhere. (we use it as a backup if our main is down)

Colin.. that was my thoughts... gamespy internal browser... maybe though we'll get lucky and have some direct ip also so all seeing eye and xfire joins are possible.

Probably one of the "chosen ones" based on what you filled out. Note noquarter I put "none" for a GameSpy login (I don't have one, natch) and it let me thruogh. I think last time it required it, or a Ubi.com one.

Eric, weren't you ever tempted to go online, just for a peek?

____

Just to double-check info, can someone who also received the E-mail post the registration/testing dates, for confirmation.

Yeah I've actually done I think once with GRAW when we were testing, oh and for the Tactical Control tutorial. I wasn't on the TS Channel, so they ran about and I ran about in different directions, so yeah I was online once. I don't for some reason do good with most clans. I'm spottily with XDF, but they're mainly in Australia, so when I get done with PT they're online, and frankly just too tired to get on. Sure there was a few US clans here, but online gaming isn't too exciting given the current crop. ANd I'm not just enthused about it in the first place. Then again I'm moving to Hood soon, so I'm not too keen on anything really.

That and the fact that I got some project going, so I'm not totally always ready to just hop in on a game when I got some texturing to do or whatever. So it's really boiling down to laziness I guess.

Nice to see Ubi & Grin are making a closed public beta test, hopefully 99%

of all bugs will be caught. The only problem is it should be longer than 5

days of beta testing.

At least it's a positive move, to get a bug free GRAW 2

I hope there's an editor in the beta, love to test it out.......

You mean 2 days after beta test ends releasing the patch don't you?

Yah that's a bit retarded in my opinion. Testing in itself takes more than a few days, and not everybody sits on their butt and has the time to look at everything. Two weeks is a bit more reasonable, therefore you can get various opinions and other bits depending on the schedule of the person doing the testing.

Well. Actually, 3 to 5 days for a single game mode and a single map is more than acceptable for a single regression (test sweep). In other words, get your bugs written and submitted in those few days, compelte the first sweep, get an update, then sweep again.

I would hope, however, that they do a few regression runs to ensure that bugs get fixed and not just "changed", and they make sure they don't introduce new ones in the process.

5 days is not too short or retarded at all for a singpe game type and a single level for a single sweep run. and about 3 sweeps should do the trick if this is truly a beta and not an alpha.
