Reticle's and using them from different MODs...

Recommended Posts

So I see a lot of very different reticles, and I'd like to be able to use them.

But how do I get them to work from different MOD's? Both the DRAG and SABRE Teams have nice reticles. I tried to see if they were compatible with eachother, and even with the Origimiss weapons, but they just don't work.

So what is involved with making them work? Is there some coding to only let certain reticles work with certain weapons/scopes?

When and where is this setup?

Thnx again for your replies.

Hey Soryu

Reticles are all made to work in the .GUN file located in the

GR/MOD/EQUIP folder

The best thing that works for me is to open the .GUN file in notepad and you'll see the following section of text that tells the game what reticle to use :-

<ReticuleTextureName>reticle_at4v2.rsb</ReticuleTextureName>

<ReticulePipLeft>263</ReticulePipLeft>

<ReticulePipTop>0</ReticulePipTop>

<ReticulePipRight>279</ReticulePipRight>

<ReticulePipBottom>3</ReticulePipBottom>

<ReticuleBaseLeft>0</ReticuleBaseLeft>

<ReticuleBaseTop>0</ReticuleBaseTop>

<ReticuleBaseRight>263</ReticuleBaseRight>

<ReticuleBaseBottom>263</ReticuleBaseBottom>

<ReticulePipBaseOffset>2</ReticulePipBaseOffset>

<ReticulePipMaxOffset>240</ReticulePipMaxOffset>

This tells the game the name of the reticle, here its RETICLE_AT4V2.RSB

The figures below this tells the game the parameters of the reticle, eg its size and dimensions.

Once you find the reticle you like open up the .GUN file for the weapon that uses it and you'll find this information.

Reticle .RSB's belong in the :-

GR/MODS/MODNAME/SHELL/ART folder

(in the original GR go via the GR/DATA/SHELL/ART folder)

There they all be dude.

Anymore help you need just shout or email me and I'll help the best I can fella ok?
