PONDLIFE 0
I think you need to use the export and then choose messeages and then addresses...which you'll find clicking on file. but dont blame me if not, I'm just a games player!
Rocky 1,224
Google has a bunch of tools for this exact purpose. There used to be a free oe backup tool I used, but I can't see it anymore, sorry.
DonMiguel 11
can also just backup the folder under your profile's \local settings\application data\identities\{GUID}\Microsoft\Outlook Express folder (its a hidden folder by default). Then once copied to the new computer use the Outlook Express 6 import messages option, select browse to OE store directory and point it to the backup folder. Works great. ROCO*AFZ* 0
You won't get the signatures or history that way. You also lose any message rules... but you will get the messages + addresses.
CR6 0
Personally, I always suggest switching to a new computer is a good time to stop using Outlook Express/Outlook. It's a pretty free invitation to invite malware into your system. With most online services (Gmail, M$'s, Yahoo etc) offering 2 gigs of of storage space and rich features, it's just as flexible and safer than Outlook, and you can access it anywhere in the world. menta 0
I have already found some nice software tools, such as Outlook Express Backup Genie ( http://www.amicutilities.com/outlook-express-backup ) which seem to do the job right..If you have any suggestions please let me know…. chiles4 11
I always use the "Don Miguel" method when I back up my e-mail on my business box. Actually I just right-click on the Identities folder and click "Send to Compressed (zip) file". Works great for messages but yeah, it doesn't grab anything else.
