Rocky
As shown here (thanks Kretzj), the majority of online retailers are now listing GRAW2 PC with a release date in June, rather than the current official Ubisoft date of the end of March. Maybe Ubisoft need a hand writing the press release! Here's how they worded the X360 delay last October London, UK– OCTOBER 7, 2005 – Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, is pleased to announce that it has decided to devote additional time to perfect the next installment in its award-winning squad-based military shooter, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter™. Hockeystick
Today Ubisoft announced that they have cancelled the PC version of GRAW2. We did not want to disappoint the loyal Ghost Recon fans again, but we did not want to risk releasing a final product that did not meet their high expectations. With the launch of Ghost Recon Advanced Space Invaders planned for Winter 2007, significant human resources were needed to ensure the quality of the future instalment of the series, thus potentially jeopardizing the quality of either GRAW2 PC or Ghost Recon Advanced Space Invaders. Taking into account their close release dates, and the fact that we felt the fifth opus would be a much more satisfying and evolved gaming experience, we were forced to conclude that it was in the interest of gamers for us to cancel the PC version of GRAW2. But Ghost Recon Advanced Space Invaders on PC will hit shelves the fourth quarter of 2007, so the wait won't be long, and will definitely be worth it. viiiper
My 2 cents ( 1.2 pence at current exchange rates). London, UK March 30, 2007 Today Ubisoft, one of the worlds largest video game publishers, is pleased to announce that it has decided to release the first official "patch" for GRAW II. This patch will fix all the forth coming bugs that may or may not b included with the final release of the next instalment in its award-winning squad-based military shooter, Tom Clancy™ Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter„. The 851Mb patch will be available worldwide, and will precede the release of the game in Europe, (American consumers will have to wait till June 2008 for the "US English" version which will include additional material (such as a free 9mm) and will be supplied on 16 CD-ROM disks). Additional time devoted to the development of this title will allow Ubisoft to offer gamers the best episode of "patches" ever and will enable the game€™s development teams to optimize the application of PC and Xbox 360„ technology. The delay of the release date will not impact Ubisoft€™s revenue forecasts for the fiscal year.
Peace
Maybe Ubisoft need a hand writing the press release! This is maybe what we’ll see on Monday? London, UK– MARCH 19, 2007 – Today Ubisoft, one PC game publisher of the world in decline, is extremely pleased to announce that it has decided to devote additional time to perfect the next installment in its squad-based military shooter, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter™. The game will maybe launch worldwide for PC in June 2007, if at all, we don’t really know…. When aliens visited Ubisoft headquarters this February 2007 and played the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2™ Beta, they quickly left Earth because they realized the human race was not ready for contact*. The additional time devoted to the development of this title will allow Ubisoft to offer gamers a full fledged multiplayer mode with optimized net code, openness, flexibility and variability in maps and gameplay, and updated injury model in the spirit of the game of the year 2001, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, the Original. *yes, we at Ubisoft also read www.videogamessuck.com
CiASpook
London, UK– MARCH 19, 2007 – Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s last video game publishers, is pleased to announce that it has decided to screw its customers over ones more by cancelling its award-winning squad-based military shooter, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2™ for PC. The game could have launched worldwide for the PC in March 2007, but we decided not to. The time devoted to the development of this title has been a waste of time. The cancelation of the release will not impact Ubisoft’s revenue forecasts for the fiscal year. This due to the fact that customers is not important anymore. Announcing, delaying and cancelling is. Thats how it should be...

kretzj
April 1, 2007 - France Today UbiSoft, a large, bloated software entertainment development and publishing house, announced that Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 for the PC platform, the ultra-modern, hot and sexy sequel to it's mind-numbingly successful Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (note: 'successful' relates specifically to the Xbox360 release), will indeed ship on March 23rd. "Any speculation on delays or product quality issues are indeed just that: speculation. We neither confirm nor deny that the product is suffering has any quality issues... or indeed that it's even finished... but indeed it will ship on March 23rd", said Pepe Lepew, UBISOFT Chairman and CEO. When asked for confirmation, GRiN, the software development house contracted to write the PC platform version of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and the sequel, simply replied, "At this point in the development process we are simply asking GhostRecon.net to allow us the use of multiple accounts, since it would make our lives so much easier. The game? Oh yeah... I think we have it around here somewhere... wait a minute... let me see if I can find it..." "The development process is expected to go "GOLD" by the middle of May, easily allowing GRiN and UBISOFT to meet the March 23rd deadline", continued Lepew. When pressed for the exact YEAR of release, Lepew quickly gathered his papers and rushed out of the conference room, mumbling to himself about "rude games industry press journalists", and "quality takes time you know!" rookie
Ubisoft would never say that they are sorry for the delay of GRAW 2 since they are not spending any money on the marketing(yet). And the money they gave for developing doesn't seem enough to give the game any attention. But there are really some nice press releases here and the "Ghost Recon Advanced SpaceInvaders" is just AWESOME!
