Crimson 0
The text editor is in the Start menu somewhere. Just open up your options.xml file and scroll to your name. Voilla!

Guest Jester
Try looking at Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->Character Map. Find what you want and see what the ASCII code for it is by clicking on the character in the display. Once you do that, look in the bottom right corner of the character map window and you'll see the keystroke required to produce that. You enter the ASCII code by holding down the 'alt' key and entering the 4-digit number using the numberic keypad not the regular number keys on the qwerty side. Hope that helps. Example: alt+0153 = ™
the.ronin 5
you need to use something that allow you to see the entire character map of any given font. my personal fav has always been "ak font viewer" (no relation to the gun ok) ... run a search for it on cnet downloads - its free. X69RZX 0
Thnx Jester, but I got that too. Thnx Ronin, I think that may help. The problem seems that the GR engine only understands the Fixedsys fonts. The characters I would like to use are not in the standard character set ie. the character map for Fixedsys . When you use certain codes with different fonts they will produce a different result. Therefore, when I type for instance, alt+937 I get omega in wordpad, but it's just a Ù or sumtin' in notepad, ######? I guess I'm not gonna die if I can't figure it out, but I may pull all my hair out.

WhiteKnight77 1
If you use the Times Roman font from the character map, you can save and use ASCI letters for your in game name (I know as I have used it in the past.) Now you may find that when you try to view the Options.xml file in a browser window you may get an error, but that does not mean the game will not work or the letters won't show up in game. Remember too that to many ASCI characters could cause problems trying to play the game.
GP_Joltin_Joe 0
I just use Notepad to edit the options.xml file directly. You can use the ALT+# trick in Notepad and then save the options.xml file.
