graw2 pc release date

Ubisofts problem: Timelines. Ubisoft's inability to deliver products on a timeline would have to be an embarrassment to the french firm. Usually Ubisoft's timelines slip off the proverbial cliff. UBISOFT: Put a stake in the ground and give users some milestones to measure progress.simple enough?

Compared to the original game, GRAW 2's maps are absolutely enormous, with a vast amount of explorable terrain, crawling with hidden enemies. Hacienda is particularly impressive, thanks to the sheer majesty of its surrounding hills and mountains, many of which are scalable - luckily, given their popularity with enemy snipers. The size of the new levels is incredibly important too, not only to make the game feel more epic, but also to enable more strategic freedom - giving you room for more complex manoeuvres. Freedom, it seems, is the key here.

@GRIN: For your consideration. In light of underlined passages in the above quote from this preview, I'd like to offer up this suggestion.

Binoculars, it seems (to me), would also be key here.

Thanks, no reply necessary, or expected.

Binoculars would be a nice addition. How about having the cross com visor also act as binoculars with a zoom in function? Now that is some "advanced" warfighter.

EDIT: Oops :offtopic:

Last time peeps all whinned and complained that the game was going to be delayed and we got a half finished game..

If you want the same thing again.. keep it up.

I don't understand. The game was delayed anyway so the whinning had no effect on it getting released sooner. And the game was in the state it was when it came out which many felt was unpolished. The extra time was for polishing supposedly so it makes no sense anyway you look at it.

I think most people just want to know one way or the other. Personally I don't have a problem with a delay since 1 year seems to quick to begin with. The main thing that irks people is that the console takes precedence in all aspects. Media releases, screenshots, info, everything.

I hope we don't have another i have to unpack a bundle and gyrate to make my custom maps. I flatout gave up on GRAW in that realm. let me generate my groundplane, slap on my texture, then export it and do my thing.

Better mod support would be very nice. I hope that one day GRAW2 has a bunch of awesome mods like the [GR] has.

I hardly think we're whinning(sp?) about getting the game early. I think what we're alittle unhappy with is the fact that we know nothing about anything. folks here got to see GRAW2 first hand but they can't say anything. that helps.

I think folks would like to see more about GRAW2 PC but the other end of the telephone line is dead. How am I supposed to get my entheusiasm(sp?) up from being just optomistic to supporting the game as a fan when I have nothing to work with? all I've seen is a few screenies, the video where mitchel gets blown back from an explosion and that same video on TV for the xbox360. Alot of other games, irregardless of good or bad games can be give better updates or news to keep customers interested.

added: What will happen I believe if GRAW2 isn't any better is, people will equate the silence as fear of failure IMHO. If they release too much info, then people will think.."hmm same ol' same ol'..I'm not buying GRAW2." This in no way is directed at GRIN. I have to say they have the intestinal fortitude to deal with the likes of UBISOFT. I'm purely directing my unhappiness at UBISOFT. Take yer time GRIN and work your magic and make us happy again.

I agree with you. Unfortunately for whatever reason they blackout media for pc for a long time. Even if they were releasing in june, they'd have stuff to show. Look at Crysis, they have all kind of footage, etc and that game is how long away? 6 months a year? The graw pc situation has been dumb since gr2 went console only. I don't exactly understand it or think any of the reason ever given are good ones. The only thing I do understand is that ubi might not want the pc version stealing the thunder from the x360 version. But that is just my own speculation and it makes more sense then the way ubi behaves with regard to the pc in general.

Brettzies, I have to say that is a good post. I think you might REALLY be on to the truth there. but as popular as the xbox360 version is, I think it would be difficult for the PC version to steal the thunder.

I don't think the pc version could really overshadow the console version, but I also think that marketing people are very parnoid about these types of things. Throw in Microsoft in which every land mark game is potential to sell more consoles and you have a combination for blackout. I know it sound like conspiracy-theory type of thinking, but I don't see any reason not to promote a game, let alone say when the actual release date is.

I think if Ubisoft was concerned they'd be advertising it more agressively. This isn't a big project for them. GRAW PC is a footnote to GRAW 360, the real product they're looking to sell.

This isn't to say there's any specific console favoritism, it's just that this is the secondary version of a big franchise. It's not really a priority to them, it seems.

They pretty much only advertise SC and GRAW/R6 anyway; PoP didn't get much press, and nobody complained.

Agree...no need to speculate anymore. If its not announced "Gone Gold" soon (3-7 days), it will never hit the marked on the 30th.

My guess is June. I have to say its VERY strange that Ubi havent posted ANY new info about PC version in a month (IGN preview). But nothing new that Ubi ignores its customers...

Oh well...Guess i'll have to find something else to play during these hard times (found out I have testicular cancer a month ago).

No new GRAW2 info even after all of the posts in this thread. :'(

Hope we get some info soon because this is some :bs: .

I've got a really bad love/hate relationship with Ubisoft. :wall: I love their games, but hate when they discriminate against pc gamers. The new overwhelming confidentiality that Ubi has with regards to pc games is probably caused by the massive leak of games Ubi was secretly working on last year like the concept art leaks of Farcry 2. Since then it seems, Ubi has been tight lipped about anything pc gaming related. That's just a theory of mine of course. ;)

Just a heads up guys, the UK GRAW2 site has been updated with the pc requirements. Nothing new there of course, but at least it shows UBI is doing something with regards to the pc version of GRAW2. Now if they would just update the pc features section.

EDIT: Also now the UK website has the pc pics as well. This makes the UK website as up to date as the French website. At least there is some kind of "proof of life" of GRAW2 pc happening.

The thing is that if UBI would say on their site that the release will be somewhere in June (which is my guess/info, 5th of June in America), most people would be kool with that.

Then this whole community would be a bit more friendly towards UBI and they would even (re)gain some respect for getting their customers some info.

well, nvrmnd.

I will say this. Crysis is scheduled for a September release, and there is a staggering amount of screenshots, trailers, and gameplay footage available.

well they have to try and sell it to someone cause farcry sucks, visually great, hopefully Crisis will be different but doubtful. :D
