Hi guys

I have hosted and played firefights online with my local buddy a numerous times before, but for some reasons, he can not find me in the internet multiplayer list window anymore.

My OS is Macintosh OSX-10.3.9

I set the modem-router map open for both TCP and UDP from 2346 to 2349, which worked fine before. My friend could see me in the list (type in my external IP address) and could join me without any problem.

There are two things which I suspect: I cleared the PRAM since last time we played, and my internet provider has blocked #80 port in an attempt to block the spam mails.

I have not alter anything with the modem-router setting.

Why can't I host a game online anymore?

Does clearing the PRAM alter anything which prevents me from hosting a game? I checked and checked, but I can't find any clue.

Both me and my friend can find the usual servers in the internet multiplayer list, so joining the game is ok for both of us.

I thank you all for any suggestions in advance.

OK I found the problem. When I set the port mapping, I also set the destination ip address. I set my Powerbook's ip address accordingly, manually, so the signal could come and go through the modem to my computer. Since I set it manually the ip address had been same even after restarting the computer. Then when I cleared the PRAM, the TCP/IP setting went back to default, which was automatic mode, so my PB's ip address didn't match the destination ip address assigned in port mapping. It's been a while since I set the port mapping, so I completely forgot about the procedure. I set my PB's ip address manually, same as destination ip address, and everything went back to normal, and I can host the game on the internet again. Sweet
