Recommended Posts

checked the microsoft site and tried to do what they told me to, then found out here about right clicking on the gr exe. file for compatibility and still nothing.

gr worked fine on service pack 1.

heres what the ike says:

***** User's system configuration *****

CPU: GenuineIntel 1103 MHz Pentium III Coppermine

RAM: 191 MB

O/S: Microsoft Windows 2000 5.1 Service Pack 2 build 2600

Ghost Recon (RELEASE) version = 1.4.0.0(0)

RSDisplayMgr::CreateGameWindow: Creating a 800x600 window at 0,0 on monitor Plug and Play Monitor attached to Intel® 82810 Graphics Controller

RSDisplayMgr::CreateGameWindow: Game running on primary display Plug and Play Monitor attached to Intel® 82810 Graphics Controller

RSDirect3DRenderer::BuildDeviceList: No windowing adapters found

RSDirect3DRenderer: Could not build device list

RSDisplayMgr::CreateRenderer: Could not initialize renderer

RSUIMgr::Initialize() : Could not initialize mDisplayMgrIkeGameMgr::Initialize() : Could not initialize UI_MGR: -1

any help will be greatly appreciated since i have over 4 gigs of missions i would like to finally release or donate after a 1.5 year absence.

:wall:

I think the issue is with:

attached to Intel® 82810 Graphics Controller

RSDirect3DRenderer::BuildDeviceList: No windowing adapters found

"No windowing adapters found" sounds like your onboard Intel video chip needs drivers installed. It's possible that the ones you were using before were not SP2 compatible, or were somehow altered during the SP2 installation.

ok, i updated the driver and now i get this:

***** User's system configuration *****

CPU: GenuineIntel 1103 MHz Pentium III Coppermine

RAM: 191 MB

O/S: Microsoft Windows 2000 5.1 Service Pack 2 build 2600

RSUIMgr::Initialize() : Could not initialize mDisplayMgrIkeGameMgr::Initialize() : Could not initialize UI_MGR: -1

from reading no windowing adapters found, does this sound like maybe direct x is messed up or needs to updated too?

It could be DirectX. It could be a lack of an installed monitor driver.

You could try downloading and installing the latest DirectX build for XP, though before that, I'd suggest running "dxdiag" from the command promt, to see if it identifies any errors.

the monitor seems to be the problem since its lacking the necessary driver. now the only thing you see is the desktop background and nothing else so i have no way of even being able to access anything at all.

im hoping my mum has all of the disks that came with this pc and monitor so i can finally get to working on my darn mods.

unless someone knows a way around this problem. :wall:

thanks dannik.

its a proview 786n made in may of 02.

im thinking this monitor is enumerated because it worked just fine with xp sp 1 then once i updated to sp2 i started having problems with gr running, media player running and winamp until i updated winmap to the current version.

i have been able to create shortcuts on the desktop even though they dont work. i am able to browse the pc and see that all of my mods are still on the hd, i just ahve no way right now of accessing them.

thanks for the help!
