It looks cool, but I can't find a similiar weapon in the actual game... Looks a bit like a Scar, but then again it looks different. krise madsen Posted February 19, 2007 Share Posted February 19, 2007 Though it looks a bit like the FN2000, the weapon in the intro movie is the XM29 Objective Individual Combat Weapon (OICW): A 5.56mm assault rifle (mechanically similar to the XM8) mounted underneath a 20mm semiauto grenade launcher. It was intended to enter service in the near future but they never got it to work properly (weight problems, reliability problems, too expensive e.c.t.) I don't know if it's included in the Xbox 360 version, or maybe it was originally intended for the PC version as well. krise madsen Posted February 19, 2007 Share Posted February 19, 2007 I think the [GR] version was the earlier prototype, which was indeed quite chuky. BTW, the actual XM29 (if it had worked properly, that is) would have made one awesome small arm, much more sophisticated than what was represented in [GR]. AFAIK, the only game to seriously simulate the XM29 was the Infiltration mod for Unreal Tournament. Also, the US Army has been working on the XM25. It is essentially the XM29 without the 5.56mm weapon and rechambered for 25mm grenades (same projectiles as the XM307 Objective Crew Served Weapon, but smaller propellant charge).
