Tinker 1
So the Gold Edition contains all the fixes, no need for 1.4 patch. You buy the Gold Edition and get 3 CD`s. Now what about the patches? Normally, you install GR, and if just DS too, then 1.3 Patch? If IT, then no need for 1.3, just the 1.4. Now, does DS and IT on the Gold Pk include just there relevent patches? If i lost my DS Disk from my Gold Pk, but had the original DS Disk, would i need the 1.3 Patch, or, are they compatable. Tinker
Dannik 43
Let's see if I remember correctly:GR Version 1.0 was released. This is the GR retail CD.Patch 1.1 was released. Bugfix for version 1.0Desert Siege was released, and included the fixes in patch 1.2Patch 1.2 was released to make GR version 1.1 compatible with servers running Desert Siege.Island Thunder was released, bringing version 1.3 to play.Patch 1.3 was released to allow players without IT to be compatible with servers with IT installed.Patch 1.4 was released. This was a bugfix of version 1.3The Gold Edition, as far as I know, has version 1.1 of [GR], version 1.2 (DS), and skips 1.3, going straight to 1.4 (IT). As for what would happen if you used an original (non-Gold) DS CD, I believe it would be identical to using the Gold version, as in you would have to install patches 1.3 and 1.4 to be current, assuming you skipped IT. The only way to be certain, though, would be to just try it, and check the version number after installing, to see where you are at.
Tinker 1
Thnx for the info. So i assume that Gold Edition IT Disc is our only concern. If i used the Gold Pk, GR and DS Discs, but the original IT Disc, i would need the 1.4 Patch? Sry for confusion Tinker
Dannik 43
If i used the Gold Pk, GR and DS Discs, but the original IT Disc, i would need the 1.4 Patch? Yes, as IT automatically upgrades [GR] to 1.3, thus leaving the small 1.4 patch to install after IT.
Tinker 1
Cheers Dannik. Would you know of any un-official patching updates that came with the Gold Edition. I posted this elsewere i while ago i think. Using my Standard Disc i can place actors in some great sniping spots, like on the balcony, outside the Polling Station. But this is not possible with the Gold Edition. Tinker
NoQuarter 0
If i used the Gold Pk, GR and DS Discs, but the original IT Disc, i would need the 1.4 Patch? Yes, as IT automatically upgrades [GR] to 1.3, thus leaving the small 1.4 patch to install after IT. I don't know if this will help but my version of GR Gold came with 2 CDs, GR (disk#1-origmiss) and DS/IT (disk#2-Gold Edition). The autorun of the Gold Edition installs the fixes for origmiss (1.4), MP1 and MP2 simultaneously; there is no option to install one but not the other mod (or patch). Below is from disk#2 WHAT'S NEW ========== Ghost Recon: Gold Edition includes the Ghost Recon: Desert Siege and Ghost Recon: Island Thunder mission packs.
