hey seriously, I aint babbling that much, look the Bears just won the Super Bowl, seriously all I am saying is when an extreme Special Forces, Mythological Unit goes into combat, wouldnt it be equipt with the best of the best weaponry, I did give some credit the MK.48 para is awesome in the game, but what about the rest of the weapons, freakin it really confuses me in the game to be using a Belgian gun, versus Mexican Forces with German Rifles, but the Ghosts are strictly American Forces correct, they dont need foreign Arms to do the job, game time??? :zorro:

Well, the Belgian weapon (FN SCAR) could have something to do with the fact that SOCOM has awarded the contract for their new rifle to Fabrique Nationale.

And the fact that the mexicans are using a german rifle could also have something to do with the fact that the Mexican army is starting to bring a G36 clone in as their standard rifle, do a quick google search on the FX-05 rifle and you will see.

FX-05 "Xicoatl" rifle

And I'd seriously doubt that the Special Forces would go to battle packing any of the rifles you previously suggested, bullup just isn't practical!

no the Belgian weapon I was refering to is the MK.48 para, Belgium FN Herstal does not accually make the FN SCAR, or does it make any of the componets to it that are in the game, i.e. FN Herstal does not make like i.e. Aimpoint sights or does it make silencers or lasers or GLs, I know FN USA makes a similar para minimi, but it is not the same weapon that is in the game, in fact the MK.48, is a smaller version of the para minimi that the US Army currently uses, I think it mostly looks like one of the older British versions of the para, of course with the barrel guard, I think the British use the original para minimi version that does not have the barrel guard, but anyways fact is, Belgiums FN Herstal does not currently make the FN SCAR, but I know FN Herstal does make a bullpup gun that is way similar, you know that gun that was the Lone Wolf weapon of granted in Ghost Recon 2 on PS2, that is the only weapon that I have seen produced by FN Herstal that looks like the game FN SCAR, in fact I think it is even called the FN SCAR, but it is a bullpup gun, and not a front load firearm, as well dont you think the CBR gun is really similar to the gun used by the Marines in HALO???? I'll have to check on the name of that gun that FN Herstal of Belgium makes, but I have run across a few posts that say the FN SCAR gun in the game is a prototype weapon... but in the most current issue of Soldier of Fortune that I have, it has a huge article on some private contractor used weapons in Iraq, and a few look really similar to the game type FN SCAR, but have different stocks on them and different barrels but they look starkly similar...

P.S.

I am on the cover of the Soldier of Fortune magazine, with a FAMAS :wall::wall::wall::wall:w00t

Foreign Legion in Africa... but the pic was taken 60 miles north of the DMZ in North Korea?

my mistake, the weapon that FN Herstal makes is not called the FN SCAR, it is the FN 2000, and it is a bullpup rifle

The FN2000 is currently in service with the Belgium's 'Para-Commando' SF unit. Their main rifle is the FNC for both the Belgian Army and the Para-Commando units. The FN2000 and P90 are chosen by the Para-Commando units for some missions depending on the initial missions themselves.

FYI, Belgium also use a version of the M249 Para.

Nurse...please get my tranquilizer gun...someone needs another shot I think

FN Herstal and FN USA would be the same company, just different branches mate. Just take a look at FN Herstal's webpage, go to news and scroll down untill you find the entry for November 30th.

November 30, 2004

FN HERSTAL officially selected for the SCAR program

FN HERSTAL is pleased to announce that its SCAR prototype has been officially selected from a field of competitors through a full and open competition by the US Special Operations Command (US SOCOM) and has been awarded an IDIQ (indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity) contract that is funded for FY-2005.

The FN SCAR is a family of weapons that FN HERSTAL designed and built from the ground up to satisfy the severe USSOCOM requirements. It consists of different variants of rifles, all available in 5.56 (SCAR-Light) and 7.62 (SCAR-Heavy) calibres as well as a Grenade Launcher Module with Fire Control System

The SCAR was Operator specified, Operator tested and Operator chosen.

At this stage, the project is entirely dedicated to address US SOCOM requirements.

The bullup weapon in GR2 would be the XM29 OICW and if you can't see a difference between that and a SCAR you really need another visit to the optometrist.

FN still makes the Minimi, M249, Mk46 and Mk48 and Aimpoint is likely to keep producing the Aimpoint sights for a very long time to come. :wall:

yah when I check the FN Herstal site, I dont see as far back on the news rolls to the date of Nov. 30th 2004, I only have till the last year D.O.T. , so I dont have any of the contract information or scripts right here on the internet,

maybe check on FNUSA.com or something, that is the site with the full sized M249 SAW, and others like USA M240 and such, I did as well hear a internet rumor that FN Herstal was producing Uzis, but I could never ever confirm this and have never ever heard from FN about making Uzis, USA or Herstal, ohh and BTW, the bullpup on GR2 is the freaking FN2000 project, it has a GL, and it is bullpup, it is on the Lone Wolf Mission on GR2 on PS2, I think its the 4th mission or something of that nature, but OICW is definately on GR1, infact 2 specialists get the OICW on GR1, you know you get the specialist for passing the mission with the extra objective complete, still though back on topic, why not the most high end, battle tested, real world weapons that real special forces units use, I mean those clones of the G36K that the Mexican Army have in that photo blog are far from the real thing, in the game it seems they really have the G36K, its not the same gun in the photo compared to the game detail. I know German KSK use the real G36K and have proven its stellar, international special forces record, the MK.48 is definately battle tested in Afghanistan and Bosnia and Kosovo, with I would assume both French Foreign Legion and Belgian paras, as well as Swedish and Finnish uBer Kommandos in the 1990's, and the Royal Dutch Marines use both full sized M240's and M249 Squad Automatic Weapons, as well as DC-30's which are like uBer refined A2's, havent heard much about the SCAR's or the XM8's battlefield experience though. Hey though you can scratch France off the list because they sell both African and Arab states arms, and boycotts the USA. :wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall:

I got a plan though in the game, stick with the MK.48 and the game is as solid as it possibly could have ever been though right D?

That's not a bad place either bro ;)

yah does anyone seriously accually represent anything that this game presents as far as warfighting, hah, if they do I have some 1/6th French Foreign Legion Daguet figurines, I remeber picking up a bunch of plastic pieces of what were they, boots in Afghanistan, yah uh last time someone represented USA special Forces, thats the kinda fragging incident that happens, and it will happen again, as far as creating stuff, build all of the cool game gun models you want, and they will come back with a not hunk of cheese in they ass but an American flag around their eyes buddy
