BigOlBrain
When I first got the game I was so annoyed with the performance that I just didn't play it. I decided to wait for more patches because I refuse to sacrifice resolution/textures/lighting for a decent frame rate...call me shallow but a 7600gt should be able to handle it and I'm stubborn. Anyway, I updated to the 3.5 patch and played around with the graphics options and got it running a lot better at 1440x900 with the textures on medium as well as everything else. By the way, is there no "High" option for textures? So anyway I have to say what a great game so far. I played both the single player and multiplayer last night and had a really good time with it. I was really surprised too because I remember so many bashing it when it first came out. One thing that does puzzle me is the lack of people who play online....what's that all about? And what was everyones beef with the game when it came out?
Colin
Its taken a while to patch it, and interest slowed the longer it took. The guys and girls that have stuck with have had a good time over the last 12 months. Online now 89 players on 67 servers not bad. It is a decent game. GRAW 2 though now thats something different. Looking forward to it a lot

fedayn
I've recently change my monitor (got a Samsung 931C) so I've reinstalled GRAW to test how it looks. At 1280x1024 it's far better than at 1024x768, and I like very much new "colours palette" ;-) Looking forward to GRAW2 me too, hope to see better support for online gaming. Like, everyting http://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=41454 Yeah I read that and those are some nice changes and all but it's still GRAW....same game really, no? Hockeystick
I would say no. In the article they say that the GRAW 2 is made from the ground up. I guess they mean the concept and not the whole game. It will be more "recon", you will have to scout for the enemy and if I didn't misread it I think you will be able to plan your tactics. You will also be able to choose where to start your mission. Edited January 17, 2007 by Hockeystick

Yeah the same engine and I suppose the same animations etc. Everything is updated of course and I think the "made from the ground up" thing is the gameplay/concept. As I said, you can pretty much play the mission the way you want. You have primary objectives of course but according to the article you also have secondary objectives that you can choose or not choose to play. The whole game seem to be more... [GR]. Peace
In the article they say that the GRAW 2 is made from the ground up. I guess they mean the concept and not the whole game. Yea, the article is a little bit vague on that, I think they actually refer to GRAW as built from scratch, I pretty darn sure GRAW 2 is not built from scratch, It is an updated GRAW ...if it is good time will tell. PS Unfortunately the reporter did not bother to look at crucial issues as wound model and injuries (which was pretty lousy in GRAW)

PS Unfortunately the reporter did not bother to look at crucial issues as wound model and injuries (which was pretty lousy in GRAW) Yeah, I asked a writer at SWE PC Gamer at the pcgamer forum if he could tell us/me something about the wound model as he had seen the game last week. I don't expect any response though This is what he said in hs first post: - Don't worry, be happy är det enda jag har att säga. Since you're a Swede you can probably read it Peace To everyone else. It's nothing interesting really. He says that we shouldn't be worried and that the game is more recon now which should please most people.
NoQuarter
Anyway, I updated to the 3.5 patch and played around with the graphics options and got it running a lot better at 1440x900 with the textures on medium as well as everything else. By the way, is there no "High" option for textures? It depends on how the card is classed in the *_db.xmls as to what graphics settings are available from the options menu. You can "force" high by editing the renderer_settings.xml -lots of variables to tweak. PATH: Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter/Data/settings/renderer_settings.xml
