calius
I agree. This time its a bit out of context hmm? You could say that yes, then you could also say that you have a great bunch of people here who have alot of feeling about these subjects. I can see that this thread actualy did go into areas needed to understand about the views of people and the whole nature of running around with a sword is ok in defense / not ok if you are seen as not to help type of thing. My posts isnt out of context because what I replied to was noticing this sort of thing, in the context of someone seeing this subject about defense & weapons etc based on criminals who do get an easy ride here in the UK which leads you to ask as to why, and there is an answer .. to me is in context leading right back to the subject that started this IE: If that situation happened in the UK & examples similar. Off topic? Well if you want a stagnant thread that everybody just posts "thats hella cool" or "nice one" because a bloke ran around with a sword like we are all eating popcorn watching a crap film ... yep its off topic. I see many strands to this which got touched on by alot of people, wheres the harm? I mean this is contained in this whole website/forum under the very title "general off topic posts" right (slight joke ZJJ). As ever, you are entitled to your opinion Calius, however I don't buy it. I do sometimes wonder if you actually believe some of the things you post or whether they are in [sarcasm][/sarcasm] tags and you are 'removing the urine'. Thats MY conspiracy theory. Its funny, I do beleive in the things I refer to (why post if you dont?). We are entitled to our opinions and yet you then take it into the realms of questioning whether I should believe what I add to a thread or if im taking the "urine" .. asked in a way that assumes my opinion couldnt possibly be true : In the UK the criminal has alot more rights than the victim. ( the answer to "why" is there if you check it out) .. and thrown back as "your conspiracy" as if you are taking the "urine" yourself. Notice everyone else said "conspiracy" (a programmed word that is used like "celebrity" these days) and all I was refering too was something thats clear to see if you find out more regarding UK law changes. Strange response given that we can agree to differ which is much simpler, I guess everyones entitled to a dig every now and then bless em. You can mix humour with a point, honest, its not impossible. What you see here is people reflecting on this one example of society's view regarding a situation like this. All our laws are different which is shown here, nice & diverse. Dont close it because your heads spinning, keep it open as a tribute to thinkers .. after all we are debating not running around with swords
dickie
@ xG5kdo - That's pretty much the point I was trying to make, only you managed to make it so much clearer @ Calius - I think I owe you an apology. You seem to have gotten the wrong end of the stick - my reference to you and your theory was meant in jest - I myself was 'taking the ######' in a lighthearted manner, only it seems you've read it as me being serious. When I said 'I wonder if you actually believe some of the things you post here' I was asking if sometimes you are joking when you post a theory like that. To me some of them come across as so unlikely that I assume they are meant as a joke along the lines of this: My friend found his car had a flat tyre in the car park and was convinced someone had slashed it or let it down on purpose. Whilst he was sitting there going through the list of people he thought might do it (as a laugh or otherwise) I told him "Nah mate, I reckon it was the CIA pretending to be the KGB disguised as a traffic warden (they think you'll never realise it's them you see...but I know better!), you see they're after you for one of those 'mind control' experiments they do. When you take that flat tyre to the garage to get it repaired, one of their agents will plant a tiny tracker in it and they'll follow you everywhere you go. Once they know you're routine they'll most likely start trying the experiment to see how it affects you. Everyone round here knows you go to the chippy by the roundabouts after work everyday, so they'll have another agent in there lacing your pie with mind controlling drugs..." That was said in such a way everyone knew it was a joke and I wasn't being serious - in the same way I sometimes wondered if you meant some of your posts. Now it seems I'm wrong to assume everyone else has a similar sense of humour to my own and would recognise what I was doing, so I apologise if it came across as being offensive - it wasn't meant to be. Like I said - you're entitled to believe what you wish but I personally don't buy that one. [sarcasm]Unless I'm actually an agent working for 'them' trying to discredit you [/sarcasm] ( the answer to "why" is there if you check it out) .. and thrown back as "your conspiracy" as if you are taking the "urine" yourself. You hit the nail on the head there.
ZJJ
My head is spinning from this thread.... not to mention that it seems to have gotten very far fetched and, it could be argued, off topic. Closing it. In my tired haze, it appears I actaully forgot to lock it. The main reason this thread has gotten locked, Calius, is due to how far fetched it has gotten.
