dedicated server files

Recommended Posts

There are Sads in GRAW I would hook up with one of the clan guys BPR MIKE/ OR ROCO/ FLIM, to set you up.

Here is a brief description.

How to start a dedicated server.

Since patch 1.30 Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter has included a standalone dedicated server (SADS) executable that allows players to host dedicated servers on machines that cannot handle the graphical requirements of GRAW. You are free to copy and run several instances of your game installation as dedicated server, provided that you own the original game.

To set up a remote machine with GRAW SADS you must copy your entire installation directory of GRAW to the machine, and then run GRAW-standalone.exe. This exe reads Settings\servers_shared.xml, which is the basic configuration file for GRAW SADS.

In servers_shared.xml you can specify an admin password and a default server configuration file, and whether or not to run it online or on a LAN. If you do not specify an admin password, remote administration will not be allowed. If you do not specify a default settings file, it will start as a Domination Server called GRAW Server with default settings. See servers_shared.xml for more information on how to edit it. Another setting in this file is the network speed setting. It is 0 for LAN speed (10MBit+), but can be defined as any value in Kbps. The maximum recomended for internet servers is 3072, but 1500 is a good average setting for a 32 player server. Keep in mind that the load on the server increases as you increase this value.

While GRAW SADS is running you will see a console window similar to a Windows Command window, saying

"Starting script: menu\standalone".

This means the server is up and running, and you will be able to see it in the ingame server listing. After connecting, you can manage and change settings through the server console. Start with /help and /print.

The GRAW Dedicated Server window does not allow any input, but you can change the config files by hand and then restart the application.

I expect some one will update this though for me.
