Shot delay in first 5-15 seconds of a game...

Recommended Posts

Lately in online games I host, plus offline solo, I can't kill anyone for the first 10 seconds or so. If I start in a room with enemies, and open up right away on them, nothing happens. They then wheel around and kill me right away.

If I wait 10 or 15 seconds and they don't see me, I can drop them with one shot.

I'm running about 7 mods. Mostly my own, and fairly small, with 1 map per mod, maybe 10 meg each directory.

This is fairly recent too, but I can't corelate it to adding a mod or changing a setting.

Anybody run into this, or have any ideas?

Sounds like you have spawn invincibility on, but that only applies to resawning

(I think), check and see if you have it on in the multiplayer options, either lower the time or turn it off, and see what happens.

That happens to me all the time.

I always thought it was the "spawn invincibility" causing it like NYR_32 said.

Only notice it on the HX4 Mod but probably because there are so many guys around when you spawn at the beginning.

I think I did disable invinceability, but will check again. I will also start by de-activating all mods but the one I'm using and see if anything changes.

Thanks guys.

Go Flyers...Sorry NYR 32!!! (At least we're both hockey fans, and have good teams!)

After activating and deactivating mod, the one that made the delay stop was the Chalet map.

I could leave all my other mods on and no delay. Once the GRS map pack with the Chalet (excellent map by the way) is activated I get the delay.

I even went so far as to create a new mod with just the Chalet and not the killhouse, and that did the same thing.

I love that map so I guess I have to live with it, or only activate it when I want to play it specifically.

Thanks to those who replied.
