dporter 1 Posted January 1, 2007 Share Posted January 1, 2007 I was planning on holding off for awhile on buying the 360 to see if the price would drop and other reasons, but I got my year end bonus last week and I couldn't resist. I had some gamestop giftcards also to help make the decision easier. I felt almost silly when I picked it up. I was all giddy when I got it in my hands and was just dying driving the half hour home to open it up. When we got home my step daughter and I tore into the box and got it all set up on my 22" westinghouse monitor that I got on black friday. It was just a weird feeling. It was like I was 8 years old again on Christmas. Well the bonus was that the console came with a free copy of GRAW and a year replacement plan through gamestop. My daughter and I played firefight for a bit and I was loving it. I was bummed at first because the graphics didn't seem mind blowing like I thought they would be but then I realized I was an idiot and that I had to tell the xbox to display in 720p. Once I did that it was night and day on the graphics. I am so glad that it comes with component cables. The detail of the maps was just gorgeous. On one level where we are playing at night on the warf and the rain is falling down we could believe how cool the rain hitting the ground looked. Very fun game. Now I have a long list of games I want to play with no money to buy them with. Good thing we get free coupons through blockbuster for game rentals with our online movie rentals. Here is my most wanted list. 1. Vegas 2. Gears of War 3. Viva pinata (for the kiddies) 4. Graw2 5. Army of 2 6. Lost planet Only bad thing is that I really need to study for the CPA exam also. Time management will be really tough. I'll post pics later of my setup when I get to work next week. We only have dial up at home sicne we live in the middle of nowhere. Sup 0 Posted January 1, 2007 Share Posted January 1, 2007 You'll probably end up wanting Viva Pinata for yourself, too. It's got a kinda' simple exterior, but a lot of different kinds of people get a lot of enjoyment out of it. I'd look into assassins creed, too, when it finally comes out. The guys at the store said I got a free trial with the purchase but I can't find any info in the paper work.
