Hatchetforce
To add to stalker_zero's post, 90% of the time when I come to this website now is to check any new developments in THIS thread. I hardly concern myself with GRAW anymore. I played [GR] until GRAW came out and I already took GRAW of my HD. Valuable feedback on things is always needed in game development. Especially from gamers. Their opinions are infinitely more valuable. Here is a good 4 point critique that helps get a game correct. 1 - Identify a shortcoming. State in concise terms, the exact problem. 2 - State why it is an issue. Just saying something effed up means your comments are never taken seriously. 3 - State the solution. How you would fix it - if you know how. If it is a technical matter, don't worry. 4 - State why your soluton works versus the current method. People that are able to do this and contribute may find themselves on the inside. Those that can't are part of the problem rather than the solution and will always find themselves outside the shaded window, in the dark, and wondering why they never get an inside peek. Only telling developers what they want to hear never fixes the issues. Giving a thumbs up is needed. Not praise, but rather an indicator things are tracking. But good critiques are worth their weight in gold. Well, almost. I await with great anticipation for more info as well.....anything is helpful.. anything like: whats the scale of the combat we can expect....squad based combat like ghost recon, or larger scale conflicts to include vehicles ( friendly, enemy, driveable). I know things can start slow and escalate to huge firefights....but how large will the conflict get once the poop hits the fan? as for me id rather not use vehicles in combat...id just as soon love the focus on squad level movement to include formations for approaching objectives... thats a personal preference issue though...im more a fan of the stalk than the kill.... i would gladly hunt and stalk for however long is necessary just to set up quality kills. 5timechamp
Patience Luke. dont mind me, i dont generally get to talk about these things in many forums... god knows how many places ive gone to and posted about things id want in this kind of game.... though i admit people havent generally agreed with my ideas on these things... PwnedByRyan
I agree w/ 5timechamp. I'd really like to see a focus on squad based game play rather than BF2 style game play (tanks, choppers, respawns, etc.) The more realistic the better. And I could honestly care less about the single player as long as: 1. It's there (like raven shield, haha). 2. The multiplayer is well done. Don't get me wrong, good SP is always awesome, but not #1 on my list(It only lasts so long! You want a game you can remember for all those "good times"). And by "well done multiplayer" I'm not only talking about game play but the interface. Vegas and GRAW for PC are perfect examples of bad MP interfaces. Rogue Spear's was 10x better in so many ways. I'm a little curious about GRAW2, but not as much as I am about this game. I know that word of this game is spreading like wildfire (it's starting small, but growing larger by the day). This Thread needs its own forum.

I dunno, I'm just as excited as you are, but it seems unfair to pressure Blackfoot or the Gr.net staff yet. The game doesn't even have funding or an entire team fully secured yet, does it? We should give John some more time before we start expecting people to gather and repost solid information, since this early on even what's been 'confirmed' could possibly change. Dannik
Amusingly enough, there actually is a subforum here set up similarly to the ArmA one, with a custom skin. Right now, it's exclusively for Staff of GR.net and BFS, but if the time comes, there's no reason why aspects of said subforum couldn't be quickly and easily opened to the general public. And no, nobody gets to see the contents of the private area.

I gotta say, there is just an overwhelming pleasure at seeing that posted on Ghostrecon2 forums ...rofl. The problem is ...as I see it: UBI thinks there is no money in PC games ...or support thereof. In all reality Other titles DO VERY well on pc. What ubi needs to realize is there is great long term money in PC if only they would change thier PC business model to fit the market. PC IS NOT DEAD, however the days of treating them like a console crowd with quick gratification ....are. Dumping out title after title will never suit PC crowd. However One GOOD title with good support and future mission pack upgrades will. The money will follow. /rant. /ot (no more flu meds for me today) Thanks Tchaikovsky

Hopefully it will let them realize there IS a market for these games (also on console), altough I guess they first have to see sales numbers as apparantly that's how ubi thinks. ZJJ
This Thread needs its own forum. There are several reasons this thread isn't in it's own forum. Rest assured, though, that the staff has been discussing this possibility for some time now. When the time is right, there will be forums for this project. In the meantime, if you are feeling constrained by this one topic because you aren't able to start a new one in this forum, just contact a member of staff with what you want to start a topic on, and if it has merits, the thread will be created. Hacksaww
I wasn't being too serious when I was suggesting that this thread should have its own forum. That comment was primarily out of my enthusiasm for this game, not so much that the topic needs expansion. However, I do think that this thread will need to be expanded in due time. krise madsen
It just ocurred to me that choosing a "joint" spec ops team as the protagonist(s) has a major advantage: A wider selection of weapons and gear, while still keeping it realistic. Think about it: If portraying, say, Navy SEAL's, you'd be "stuck" with the P226 handgun (or whatever they're using these days), and the same goes for carbines, machineguns, sniper rifles e.c.t. However, with a "joint" units, you can pretty much pick and choose from the entire US spec ops inventory, including (maybe) some rarer items: Barrett M468, HK 416/417, MP5K, Mk. 12 SPR, Recce Rifle, you name it.
