-mIze- 0
If this is an obvious thing, cut me some slack, since I just installed Ghost Recon the other day for PC and I'm trying to get into the series. Prob: Aiming is simply a biotch. It seems like whenever I look around I get this snap-to-grid kind of aiming. I try to aim for an enemy and I'm only allowed to move the reticle to certain positions,. The look movement is not smooth, it feels like it revolves around a 3d grid. I can move slightly right, left, up, down, but never in the middle of two positions. It makes long range targets very difficult as well as annoying the hell out of me when I try to get a quick shot off and find myself fumbling with the aiming system. I'm on 1024 at 32 bit with all video setting at max. The animation and terrain is smooth and nearly flawless, on a ti4600. Is this how the game was intended to be or is there some kind of solution? Dark Ranger 0
Welcome to GR.NET -mIze- As for "Snap-to-Grid" aiming, that is not in the game design. Should be smooth like your graphics. - First off, I'd try cleaning your mouse, if you own a ball-type one. Clean the ball itself, rollers, and mouse pad. - Have you checked your mouse properties? Play around with sensitivity settings. We had one member here with a very similar problem; had a Logitech mouse. I'll try to dig up that post. - What kind of mouse do you have, and have you updated drivers, if possible. - What Windows Operating System do you have? Again, welcome to the best fan site on the 'NET for Ghost Recon. Enjoy your stay!

-mIze- 0
I had tried raising the sensitivity before, but it didn't help. So I lowered the sensitivity to about .6 and its fine now. I assume it just couldn't register a mouse movement at anything but a larger increment(x,y) at a sensitivity of 3, no matter how slight the mouse movement was. It still has that grid-like aim feel but it's so accurate it's barely noticeable. Now I can enjoy the game.... Thx to both of you for your input!
