Hi all.

A couple of new character pics from the upcoming Operation Stabilise MOD. Most of you all know the background of this MOD by now, so I won't go into the details - I'll just go straight to the pics.

All my previous pictures have shown the Australian and Allied characters, so I thought it was time to show the enemies. Here's the first beta shots of the Indonesian armed forces - both TNI and Kopassur.

Also, the 7th specialist is complete. As the Thai forces were a very big part of this operation, I have decided to include a soldier from the Thailand Rapid Deployment Group as a specialist. Here's a couple of pics:

All these pics are beta, so ignore anomolies such as hand weapon placement as this will be fixed before the MOD is released. Also ignore the weapon selection of the Thai RDG - this is not realistic, but it's the first weapon I could lay my hands on for the photoshoot ;)

Are the chr skins bad or just not interesting to the general community?

Maybe I picked an unpopular conflict to mod :(

It's difficult for a modder to improve if no feedback is received ;)

One thing, wouldn't it be better to use the us_army asian face textures than the african ones seeing as the enemies are indonesian?

Well, that's a good suggestion.

However, I felt that the us_army skins were "too" Chinese/Japanese looking. A lot of indonesians - especially in the timor side seem to be a cross between the chinese look and the Islander (as in PNG) look (ie darker skin and not so pronounced narrow eyelids). Please note - I am not trying to offend anyone here, I'm just trying to explain the differences in appearance :unsure:

Here's a pic of some Indonesian kids to show you what I mean.

So, the ideal face would have been a cross between the African faces and the us_army asian faces. I still might play around with it and see if I can get the happy medium.

Someone was/is making a vietnam mod.

They don't look indonesian, I know, but they're small too.

With SCALE in an atr-file you can make them smaller (is been told to me).

You could use that for more reality. (I would).

I haven't tested it, but if you do, maybe some pics to show the difference between big American/English and small Indonesian/Vietnamese.

The smaller they are, the harder to hit, hehe

Hi ppl.

Just finished another couple of specialist's for the Op Stab total conversion.

Take a look at the Brazilian Marine and the Portuguese Support soldiers.

Note - thanks to BajaBravo for donating the camo pattern for the Brazilian Marine. :wub:

Also would like to report that mission 4 of the campaign is back from the beta testers and they tell me it is very hard. Good :rocky:

If the missions are too easy - it's no challenge. Mission 5 is now off of the blueprints and starting to take shape in IGOR :)

will there be UK Forces in your mod? I read about them been there here :)

Yes.

Already there is the British Ghurka's included as a specialist and as a NPC re-enforcements :ph34r:

In addition, a member of the UK SBS is planned as being a specialist :)

Just haven't modelled him yet ;)

I've been reading the earlier posts here, and saw that you were a bit surprised by the lack of replies. Dont be disheartened, I've been looking forward to this mod, since you announced it, been busy with R6:3 tho :wub:

This will probably be the mod that gets me back into GR
