Patching your Dedicated Server

Some people who have only transfered their files up to their dedicated server might have some trouble patching them to 1.35 since they do not have the proper Windows Registry entries that the patch needs to run. This is all you need to do to make the patch run on your dedicated server so you will not have to re-upload many many GB's of data to your servers.

WARNING - MODIFYING THE WINDOWS REGISTRY CAN CAUSE SYSTEM INSTABILITY OR MAKE YOUR SYSTEM NOT EVEN BOOT. If you do not feel comfortable with editing the registry or backing up your registry before attempting the following DO NOT TRY THIS. I am not responsible for any problems that might incur from attempting this registry modification. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Whew! OK with that said, on to business...

Open a text editor. Then cut and paste the following:

"ExeName"="GRAW.exe"

"InstalledPath"="C:\games\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter"

"Version"="1.24"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ubisoft\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter\Versions]

"Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter"="1.31"

Next change the installed path to the same as where you have GRAW sitting on your server. Then save the file as a .reg file - NOT a TXT file. Next go into regedit or regedt32 and BACKUP your entire registry before you do anything else. DID I MENTION TO BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE? Next find the file on the server's harddrive then right click on the file and install the registry settings.

Now you should be able to run the patch and get your server up to 1.35.
