AJ59
The change to the sounds is very nice. Sounds that occur close (like reloading the GL) are much louder and sound a LOT clearer... while sounds that occur farther away are not as loud. Thus the volume is more proportional to the distance. I'm still getting a bit of stuttering...but maybe I should try playing with my settings a bit. I did notice that I have to remap a lot of buttons... like weapons. That's okay. Thanks for the patch. =3dS=rOOk
About maps, some servers do display a wide range of custom maps and it is a piety that others haven't done the same. Italian community is trying to have shortly a single map pack, our aim is to load it on major italian servers. Map pack will be periodically modified/updated when new/better maps will be available. Version n° should be displayed on server's name. http://www.graw.it
CSF_DeadManWalking
About maps, some servers do display a wide range of custom maps and it is a piety that others haven't done the same. Now when auto dl is available there is easy for the community to begin using these maps. Of course more official maps would be great, but this particular problem isn’t one which there is much reason to froth about. Sorry, pal, but the wide range of custom maps you are talking about is not as good as you say, except for a couple of them. I've tested a lot of 'em and all in all they are quite similar and often full of wrong objects in wrong places, like containers upon crates or level xings in the desert....just to fill up the map with something. It's very hard to choose from them to create a good mappack which will be playable in a ladder and as long as there's no ladder, this game is dead meat... However, as my italian friend Rook says, we are looking at it...

Hall of mirrors is a blast. I have a few others i haven't tried yet though.

Papa6
Give him a week Bumbi Just kidding Papa! Who's kidding? Papa blows hot and cold on GRAW like nobody's business. But we love him for it. Most of the time. I'll worry about that when i am faced having to take viagra.... but Grin seem to have fixed alot. the reason for my hot to cold happens when i think I'm enjoying the game only to be deflated when something ruins that fun. Dragonl0rd
Prone bug almost 100% solved , lot of happy campers now... Hum... just came out of a game. I was prone on the side of a little mound, and was still not able to aim low enough to shoot tangos running on the other side... so I got killed. Logically, I should be able to find a position where only my head and gun are exposed... seems I have to be half-torso exposed to be able to aim low... Please comment on the "almost 100%"... are there specific conditions where it is fixed (like it's fixed for walls and staircases, but not mounds) ? Have you even played the patch? Papa. It is probably because the character is rigid when prone, instead of rounding with the hill. A lot of games are like this. If you crawl a little forward, enough to break the plane (unfortunately exposing yourself more) you should be able to aim down. I wouldn't call it a bug now but a limitation of most games. On flatter surfaces however there is now no issues with aiming even into the ground in front of you.
Nutlink
Just ignore him Roco, it's safer that way than trying to interpret his insults at Grin. With how much he bashes this game, I doubt he plays it. If so....well, I guess I'll leave it at that.
JASGripen
The game runs very well now, and if someone is paid by "the big man" I know were to point the finger.
IrishStout
Hi Papa, the prone issue you talk of might not be perfect but it is way better then what it was. I find the environment kind of dictates the amount of "flexible proneablility" LOL. It does seem to be a limitation of games these days. But again, from what it was to what it is now is an improvement in my eyes. One side note.. Once again.. please take this word of advice - If you don't like the game and you've already explained your digust for the game (Now working on 4-5 months), we don't want to hear it anymore.. please move on! Go find something else to do instead.. Feel free to start a new post called "I hate this game".. then all those that hate it can post in there.. stop hijacking our constructive posts.. we enjoy the game and your opinion will not change our mind ... RAbbi_74
OK "You're going to have to post a bit more constructively and a lot less aggressively" Im posting the truth about this game . is that a crime? Crime? This isn't a legal matter. I have to agree with Rocky that telling folks no to bother to reply to you makes you seem either elitist or ignorant, NEITHER OF WHICH I FEEL YOU ARE. But you ARE starting to get on more nerves than usual, and that's saying something... Openly invite criticism, man. Let's everyone know you're open-minded (even if you might not truly be)... Rocky
Cuchillo, your post is deleted as once again it contains little but falsehoods and stands as evidence of your persecution complex. I gave you a friendly warning there, and you ignored it. You have been officially warned about your postings many times before, and on many other occasions you have not been warned where you could have been. muzzleflash
I have to say that the sounds are a great improvement. I love the tweety birds, mosquitos buzzing, roosters doing their thing. Now if only civillians could be added, that would be the great! Overall I like GRAW and enjoy playing online despite my old and barely functioning computer. Good day to all. RAbbi_74
I keep hearing that about the ambient sounds, but haven't played enough to notice. Nonetheless, that's cool. As for adding civilians, that's already been ruled out. I tend to think it COULD be done if most of the trash objects could be removed from the map, but this is all still small potatoes. The GL bug is said to have been fixed, as well as most of the prone bug. YAY! Those were two MAJOR playability concerns, so kudos to GRIN on getting that out of the way! While it sounds somewhat improved, there might still be some work to do with the server stability/disconnect problems. But overall, WELL DONE. JASGripen
I have tried to low crawl a bit and it works pretty well - as in shooting on the evil ones even if they are at your own level. You still got problems with being half on pavement and half on road, but that is on the other hand a small thing to manage. Civilians will probably not appear - perhaps not even in an eventual GRAW2 - it is a bit more tricky in a war setting compared to an anti terrorist etc, setting. On the other hand most future wars are probably being fought in urban environments so it would be realistic with heaps of civilians.
