DL of weapon mods

This is a n00b question, but I am not into modding so here we go. Why is there not any weapon mods to DL on the servers? I mean a lot of the most popular servers ( GG and BDA for example) got maps to DL directly when trying to connect. Why isn't the same done for some of the good weapon mods around? Is it not possible to do it that way?

I ask as weapon mods would be a lot more popular if they were added to this direct dl way of getting them. We cannot hope for official weapon mods, as the 1.35 patch isn't a mp patch.

Perhaps - if it is possible to dl weapon mods this way - we could do some lobbying on the server hosts to add some of the better mods to their servers.

I'm sure it would be, but the problem is that then ANYTHING can be adjusted and made to be downloaded. Imagine a server where they have a daily random "super" weapon (ie Tuesday the glock is 1 hit kill and extremely accurate, Wednesday is the MR-C, etc etc).

Some things can be put in with the map bundles though, like skins. Maps can have specific skins to use. Say I managed to make a snow level. I could have it that any time someone played the map their camo would be white, but when they play another map it's back to normal. I wonder if the weapons mod would work the same way...

I agree that we don't want a lot of sloppy mods included. But say if I list the 10 most popular servers, we all know the names of them. If they could get together and ay that we all include mods A, B and C (but not sloppy D), then it will set a standard which all MP players will adapt to.

What I really wonder is if the weapon mods can be included in auto dl at all.
