NYR_32 6
I've noticed that when you have two or more mods that use sound files that are the same, activated at the same time, the sound is that of a bird, try deactivating some mods and see were the conflict is. magura4224 0
k i will try that m8
DonMiguel 11
this is usually done because a sound is listed 2x in the effects.xml. That .xml is combined with all others from the activated mods and the default GR. So, any sounds that you are overriding in GR, don't relist, just put the .wav there. Mamon 0
I'm going to resurrect this thread because I"m having the same problem...I want a new sound for the reloading of shotgun, it's w_shtgn_rl.wav . I have a new one in my own sound folder, but I get a bird sound too...this is for a mod I'm making though and I really would rather have the new sound! The weird thing is, the first time I tried it out, it worked fine. But now it doesn't, and i'm using the same mods in the same order Edited May 6, 2004 by Mamon
DonMiguel 11
did you list that shotgun reload sound in your mod's effects.xml? if so, remove it. It's already listed in the \origmiss\sound\effects.xml and all effects.xml's are compiled into 1, so you get that dual listing and thus the bird sounds start up (first sound in the origmiss effects.xml listing is 'a_blackbird.wav'). SteelHack 0
Sorry to bring this dead horse back..but I am troubleshooting the same problem. So how would one go about fixing this? Go through all the sound XML's and delete the matches? HACK
