thanks guys, but now i need your expertise!

i ran into a problem when i was testing the AK in Ghost Recon and i hope you can help me.

let me explain: the first time i tested the AK in GR some sides of the weapon looked really bright, so i went back to max and retextured those parts. it now looks somewhat better like in picture 1, but when viewing the weapon from a different angle the same problem appears again, like in the red circle in picture 2.

does anybody know how to fix this?

i had that problem once... i dunno what did it but i was tickin me off

the forward assist on my sopmods did it... so i deleted the assist and remodeled it... and it still kept doing it....

so i deleted that model and remade the entire thing

well the strange thing is, i made the mag using the extrude technique ( btw i am also having the same problem on the grip ), but i have also used that technique for other parts of the weapon, but those parts don't have this problem.

Extrudeing mediocre technique anyways. Still its good for GR's standards keep up the goodwork ;)

maybe so, but like you said, it looked good!

anyways, with the expert help from Argyll and Chems i have been able to fix the problem! it involved me remaking the mag and using a older model of the bottom foregrip but it now looks great in GR!!

:D

I've had some weapons that have come out with bright and dark spots even if the texture is the same colour. I've narrowed this down to being an effect of using a Smooth modifier. Areas with Smoothing added to them comes out as beeing darker than the rest. Could that be it?

don't worry, Snowfella! i have been able to fix the problem.

also, the mag looks like it's inserted slanted, like someone didn't finish putting it in (since the front goes in first).

thanks Swifty, didn't notice it before, will have a close look at the new mag to see if i got it right this time!

-- edit -- well the problem accured again this morning, now on the grip! so i went back to Max and redid the whole stock the old fashioned way, using the line tool and a cylinder. Finally i can say the AK looks great in GR and after losing some polys last night it has gained about 100 today. But it now looks perfect!

Hehe yeah, I get to play around with an AK every once in a while, and it looks like the mag is almost in, just need to pull it back so it'll "click" in. Then pull back the charging handle and start spraying my friends' room...er...oh

swartsz could you make the sound file loud for that ak

and the kill rate should be high cause if in real life u get hit by a ak your body will get knockd back hard

2 reasons why people die from a gunshot

hydrolic shock- shock to the system-

the shock of the bullet hitting you

could stop your heart

tissue damage- xcessive tissue loss-

the old 5.56mm round would tumble

around your insides

like a ping pong ball

so just imagen what a 7.62mm

from an ak would do?

Just to clarify - hydraulic shock is actually the phenomenon that occurs when the force of an impact causes a "ripple" effect through the tissue of the body. To my knowledge, hydraulic shock has never been conclusively proven to be a major cause of injury or death from small-arms projectiles. :)

That AK is smokin' hot, Swartsz. :)

its shock para,

a sudden pain that stops your heart

the fact that u just got hit and are bleeding badly

your body will go into shock

shock can kill, youll learn that when u goto basic

treating someone for shock is not an easy thing to do

as a "combat lifesaver" in the U.S. Army

u have to know how to treat for shock.

also i know its hollywood but when u see someone

get shot and they go down and then they start freaking out

(acting) they go into shock and die

in real life when u go into shock theres a high chance

of you dying if u dont treat it--- watch the movie "three kings"

when george clooney discribes to ice cube and mark walberg,

what a bullet does to you when it hits you. :offtopic:
