Sup
http://duggmirror.com/gaming_news/AMAZING_...ND_COMPARISONS/ First part isn't that impressive, really. Looks nice and all, but all it really shows is their ability to use max payneish phototextures. That said, the two character shots are awesome. Finally seeing a bit of style from Crysis's art:
Lightspeed
man those real time , reference comparisons are breathtaking. tbh, I cant see how anything can top those graffix.
WytchDokta
Looks like we're gonna atleast need like an AMD 10,400 SLI septuple core mounted with seven GeForce FX 20,800's and 15x 1024 MB ram cards to run that game!! Sup
Looks like we're gonna atleast need like an AMD 10,400 SLI septuple core mounted with seven GeForce FX 20,800's and 15x 1024 MB ram cards to run that game!! There's not very much visible in those enviornment shots that really tops farcry (engine wise.) Obviously they look great, but for the most part the detail you're seeing is old fashioned diffuse textures. I'd figure the main thing you're looking at is video memory, with all of those high res textures, but I assume you can scale that down. tbh, I cant see how anything can top those graffix. Pretty easily. Crysis is definitely impressive, but this is nowhere near the end in engine technology. Crytek's artists are clearly excellent, but there are still obvious engine constraints on all of the assets I've seen so far. Even the amazing character I linked has visibly jagged edges around his head, and a comparatively underdetailed low res ear. Plus, the shaders and textures on his armor aren't even close to the quality or realism on his skin.
whoa182
I think we'll see environments pretty much spot on to how they look in reality within a very short amount of time from now... It's still going to be the characters that they are going to have to work on to become more convincing... What you think sup... how long before we get to this point? The problem is we 'humans' can pick up on extremely subtle differences that makes the character look real fake. Janie42
Maybe I'm not fussy enough, but the character looks really darn good to me, except definitely his ear is an odd/off colour?
Sup
He definitely looks great, but if you're looking for absolute realism there's still a very long way to go. Crysis is probably the most impressive game being shown today, but it won't be long before it's easily outdone.
