GRAW: mostly fixed yet?

Ok, so Im an [GR] player, and have been thinking of buying GRAW for a while, but was waiting for the patches to fix a lot of the problems and the price to go down (cause I spent all my money on a new system to play the thing...)

Anyways, are the bugs mostly gone in SP? and MP? I dont expect a perfect game, but is it $30 enjoyable in both SP and MP at this point? I was thinking about maybe buying bf1942 (not nearly as tactical, but still fun) but Id rather buy this as long as there is still a regular multiplayer community, most bugs are fixed and there is prospects of new mods coming out. I just dont want to buy a game where there isnt really anyone playing online anymore or whatever. Thanks in advance

I'd say it's worth the $30. Not thoroughly debugged yet, but as we players have asked so much of the developers in so much as what to add to the game, they've been going ######ing nuts trying to keep up with our demands, Ubisoft's demands, and their own capabilities in terms of available man hours and wounded kitties. (Bless little Pesto) SADS isn't quite stable yet, and some might argue it's downright unplayable, but I've had DECENT luck with it so far. So have others. The Single Player game is great. TvT and [GR] COOP gametypes are getting to be wicked fun, and there are already a TON of great aftermarket maps in there (GR.net DOES have the single coolest modding community in existence). At the original $54.99, I'd be hesitant. At the current $30 or less, take it.

Either way, play the heck out of the DEMO first. Make sure it suits you before you lay out a penny for it. And be aware that the playability of the game in it's current version (1.30?) is substantially improved from the DEMO.

I have not played much Multiplayer but have played the SP missions quite a number of times and still enjoy them. I think it was more than worth the cost.

Also, with the [GR] Coop maps out there, you can play those by yourself as well (set it up as a LAN server). Makes it the possible to do lone wolf missions for the time being.

I was in exactly the same boatas you J-Man, long time GR player and keen to get onto GRAW. Unfortunately I realised from the demo that my rig wasn't up to grade; I needed a new gfx card. Add to this all the pain being spread on these forums I decided I wasn't going to spend money for no pleasure.

As my clan were in at the start ( some being original beta testers) I kept up to speed on the patches & mods. Suffice to say with 1.3 I made the decision that it was time to jump aboard. So one new gfx card and a cut price £12.99 copy of GRAW later I can say it's definately worth getting the game.

It ceertainly isn't perfect yet, there are still a few minor issus to resolve but it plays great with smooth gfx and great gameplay.

Go on, you know it makes sense!

CYA. I play 95% MP and it is really decent, except still to much disconnections and to few vanilla HH maps. The laddering have started (PGL 30 teams) and things are heading in the right direction.

Heres my opinion on GRAW if anyone gives a flying crap.

Now.. I've been playing Red Storm games since rainbow six first came out and it just seems like Red Storm pwns tom clancy games... like big time. They just know what they fans want and how to build the games upside inside out and backwards and I will be a long time fan. I mean.. they do so much with the game its unreal, they go above and beyond the call as far as gameplay and features.

Ok, don't get me wrong if your not a long time red storm player and you pick this game of GRAW PC up and download 1.30 right away and play it its exquisit.......................... HOWEVER,.................... as a long time Red Storm fan, setting all bugs aside (yes, i said forget about the bug part for the moment) and look at the features and setup of the game only it still is nowhere near what I consider the quality of a red storm game. I'm not evne going to get into what I mean because the topic is so massively broad I'd be here all day. And thats what people have been trying to tell GRIN all along on these boards and they either seem to think we're idiots or to use bo's words "trolls" , or we're never happy and thats not the case at all. And its not the fact its different either... its just the game is sub par when compared to red storm... its just a fact. If red storm did this game it would be the 360 converted over.... which pwns from what I'v seen. and I own the regular XBOX limited special edition of GRAW and in hi def i may ad... and even though its graphics dont compare with teh PC the gameplay and setup is much better than this one. Its just GRIN doesn't get it no matter how much we tell them.

Also, I do understand that I dont understand the whole deal between ubi and grin... like for instance i do feel for grin in the fact they had to super rush the game ... is that their fault ? i have no clue, ... is it ubi's ? .... i have no clue... is it both of their faults ? ... was it unavoidable ? ........ again, no clue. But what I do know is probably half of the games problems come from the fact that it was rushed...... and dare I say this but I would of rather waited for GRAW PC to come out this Christmas or something and be 100% than to go through what I did before with this game. Every night I would play I had to do forced retarts abotu 4 times a night... eventually of course it ruined my installment of windows and I had to wipe my hard drive along with MANY other things... but thats just an example. But also... just so people know, that red storm does talk to the people to... or at least for the rainbow six series they do, go over to the rainbow six vegas boards.. they always post on there and in quite a professional and very informative manner if I may ad.... so ... I mean, grin aren't the only ones that do this. hell.., thats why they made a patch for Lockdown, becuase people asked them to... and they did it. They originally werne't going to from what I understand.

But. also I'm a very hard person to impress and my own personal GRAW awards go to GRIN "wet" Willie because hes all over the place here, he did slack there for a bit but then got back on the ball ten fold... and honorable mention to GRIN "mount" Everet.. hes been doing what he can from what I understand.

Let me reference you to something... sum of all fears which flopped, and GR2 which we never saw. Now tell me they own.

On the next note... if they didn't release it, we wouldn't get an expansion this christmas (hoping for at least)

Few things.

Look at how many games they made and look at the ones that are no good... nothings perfect. They have an excellent track record.

now also look at the fact theres nothing wrong with those games, sum of all fears is the same thing as GR 1 with different missions and an auto aim and map which you can turn off becuase they own. Ive never had a single phsyical problem with that game and as far as preferences go... there was nothing I couldnt automatically adjust.

GR2... i have no clue what happened there, i was under the impression that was UBI's doing ? I have it for XBOX and it does pwn. There is so much freakin DL content for that its unreal, plus the fact they released another version GR2 summit strike, which I also have. It kicks more ass than the first one. THey even have gag skins, You can be a pilgrim riding a turkey, or a scarecrow with a sniper rifle if you want. (you shouldnt of gotten me started) they have more multiplayer combos than your mind can imagine, as well as multiple single player combos. You cant even speak about it until you've seen the wonder of what they did with GR2.... its unreal. You can play that game forever and not get bored with it becuase its so vastly broad.

we pretty much have 4 modes here, SP, COOP, [GR] COOP, and ten thousand Deathmap variations which are all the same despite what they say.

did you know you can even play a coop HH in GR2 agasint AI ? ... you can do anything with that game. And so what if you have to jump on the console to play it, you can switch from first person or third person if you want, you have a bigger screen to play on, and the controller is gotten use to in a matter of days at the most.

and whoever confirmed an expansion pack ? , if its true great.. point me in the right direction so I can see and if not... don't spread rumors.
