Let the fun begin!!!!

I have no time to play for the next months and this porbably signs my end with GR, however I'm congratulating with you, it's hard to have a mod released expecially now when there is no enthuasiasm around..

Really sad to hear that, GiWeDa, but you're right, many modders lost their enthusiasm and I often had to motivate myself to continue the work. However, I promise that this is not going to be my last mod for GR :yes:

Whoops, just spotted a glitch. I had a wonderful firefight on the embassy mission but when the tank was coming for me, the SMAW rocket didn't kill it. I need to fix that. What I'm going to do is make another version of the SMAW, so there's 2.

Version 1 will be the HEDP (High Explosive Dual Purpose) which won't kill tanks but which will have an increased blast radius.

Version 2 will be the HEAA (High Explosive Anti Armour) which will be an AT rocket.

Expect a little Update soon.

A thermobaric projectile would be neat, too. Can anyone give a hint on how to make one?

It's amazing that GR has generated so much loving attention.

I am not a modder, so I'm sorry I can't contribute, but I love the work you do.

In fact, I have backed up all the files I have so that they will be available as long as I have a computer that will run them.

Excellent work everyone. Keep them coming!

Sorry to hear that you won't be around as much as before.

I hope that things will not be as demanding of your time as you expect, and that you will still pop in here from time to time.

been playing this today and its a great mod the skins and weapons are very good as are the sounds (personle im not quite sure if i like them) the mission is also well done.

Please dont make it your last :nono::o

I enjoyed the sounds by WD. Had some umph to 'em.

Tinkers mission, as always a treat but I hate it when I have to rack my brain to figure out what he has got up his sleeve. I still haven't beat it after several tries. :)

Thanks for the hard work! The skins look awesome.

My friend and I tried to play co-op with this mod. The characters all had white faces and the game crashed. Maybe it's because of one of our other mods. Anyone else experience this?

Ah dammit the "white-face-syndrome" again :lol: . I already had this issue with the previous version of this mod. Patch is coming soon.

I'm pleased that people are enjoying my sounds. I know some of you are not sure whther you like them or not. All feedback is good feedback, regardless of whether the comments are good or bad - it shows the community is following.

I checked out how other modders did their weapon sounds in their mods and I wanted to take a different direction. They are full of 'umph' as wombat said, and also, each weapon in each series of weapons has a similar but unique sound - the AK74 sounds similar to the AK47, but the initial sound of the sound is different. Listen closely, you'll see what I mean. I've kept this pattern true thoughout DANFOR too - my C8 sounds are based off my C7 sounds etc. They both sound similar but both retain a unique sound to them.

I think the M14 sound I made for USMC v2 is my personal favourite. :thumbsup:

EDIT: it seems my shotgun sound might be a little quieter than the rest of the weapon sounds, I'll investigate it further.

Firstly...

GREAT WORK!!!

I've always had the deepest respect for the USMC. I first encountered them during a tour of duty in Iraq and always strive to find good mods for games to represent their goodness.

I do have a question though. Why the M4 and not the M16A4? I could understand the demo guys having a carbine but the riflemen would have been most excellent indeed if they had that trusty old weapon modded up as is the standard practice these days.

Overall this was a great addition to Classic GR :thumbsup:

As a footnote, I know a lot of people love GR for the realism but there are some missions in some campaigns where there are several tanks so I tweaked the demo M136 kit to be able to carry 2 Rockets and 3 C4 to give my grunts a chance in some of those killer missions.
