gr dont work wit win 2k :(

Recommended Posts

I am using 2kPRO and everything runs sweetly...even GR. When you installed 2k, did you "Upgrade" or reformat the HD and install 2k?

I would recommend reformatting your hard drive for best performance. Consider this:

You owned Windows 98. All your hardware(sound card, video card, etc.) had drivers for Win98. Perhaps some of your programs only ran on 95/98. Then you Upgraded to Win2000. All your file system settings and structures were upgraded to the Win2K architecture. | However, your drivers remained, along with all the other Win98 stuff.

THIS WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS ACROSS THE OPERATING SYSTEM!

So, before I continue, I need you to confirm that you did indeed "Upgrade".

Hey no problem magura4224. We are here to assist new members of GR.NET. You came to the right place.

It is good that you didn't upgrade, as you will have the issues that I stated. The file system you are talking about is "NTFS".

You need to completely format the hard drive in NTFS, then go about installing 2k as the manual says. Shouldn't need a specific file to make it work...it's all contained on the disk.

As for GR | There are Patches for the games called :1.3.5 and the 1.4 Patch. Also, be sure you install drivers for your video card etc that are Windows 2000 compatable too.

See what your dad can help you out with, as far as the OS, then we'll go from there.

Welcome to GR.NET. :)

I used to have 98 on my 'puter, and I must say 2k is MUCH better: More powerful and easier to use.

I could go into detail, but if you have 2K available, I'd go with that. Very stable OS. Love it.

Talk to you later bro...hope to see you in Multi-Player sometime too! :o=
