OK, not quite given up...M4 in progress

so you did get it working in the [GR] coop.. I remember the earlier stages of it wouldnt let you play it in the [GR] coop. It would crash the game. cool mate!

well, i for one hope that this mod will start a resurgence in other mod makers to come back to GRAW and release some content. it would also be nice if GRIN could be able to provide a patch that will provide more weapon and character options in SP and MP.

it is a shame that it took Snow to be the one that will provide the m4 for us. yeah, i know that GRAW is set in the future, but if you think that m4's won't be around in SF in the next 5-8 yrs, you are sadly mistaken. the devs should have known that they should have included the m4, m14, SPR, and sr-25 because it is in the special operations arsenal and it should have been in the game from day one.

most in the GR community are gun freaks and they love having a squad with various weapons, not the handful we got with the original release. i think that is why GRAW pc is doing "so so" and the graphical overload made it even worse. i wish i had modding skills because you can bet that i would be doing exactly what Snow is doing and those of us that are left around here need to support him and others for doing this work for US.

this m4 is going to be sweet and i hope it will inspire others with modelling skills to come in and start modding the ghosts (getting tired of the futuristic look, especially for MP). Great work, Snow :thumbsup:

Where did you get this intel, m4's are bein phased out, and yes, there wont be any, they will be going to NG and big Army units.

Question, Rocky: I haven't installed it yet or I'd know for myself, but when the video slowed-down during the reload animation, was that intentional or was it a lag associated with the animation? Just curious. I'm gonna try it out later. Great video! Thanks...

Nice. I got around to installing it. Works GREAT! I especially liked the little nitelite add-ons. GRAW2006-11-0515-45-25-78.jpg

Have a look at that pic though. Not that it was the least bit annoying or anything, but notice the line extending diagonally to the 11 o'clock from Kirkland's M4. Any idea what that is? And I noticed the skin on the M203 on HIS weapon was missing, though mine worked just fine. Still, GREAT work on this one. I'll be using it frequently in SP...

It's really only visible nearer the top of the screen. I got a few pics of it. It seems to be fixed in relation to the position of the weapon, NOT the shooter's perspective. I could move around it, under it, etc. And it wasn't constant either, but kinda came and went as I moved around. Odd. But as previously stated, had no effect on gameplay. AWESOME MOD!

I'm guessing Kirkland had an M203 equipped?

I noticed yesterday during testing that something is amiss with either lodb or lodc on the m203, get just far enough from someone packing it and that strange hovering thing appears with an odd looking texture.

I'm going to have a look at that problem today though, it's most likely just something that isn't set up right in the model file...I had to do some guessing with it as we don't have an example file of a grenade launcher.

Well, currently GR.net supporters are giving it a run to see if they can find any bugs...and they have indeed found both one and 2 that I still have to fix.

So give it a few more days and I should ought to be able to set it free, hopefully without any bugs.

It is using the original SCAR L sound.

Unfortunately whatever little talent I might have haven't carried over to sound design so I think I'm better of going with the already excellent sounds that ship with GR:AW, if I tried making something it would most likely sound horrible.

Current status on the pack is that I'm pertty confident that I have managed to iron out most of the bugs...right now I'm working on something :ph34r: that if I get it to work also will come with the package. Call it an easter egg...those who have played [GR] with my XM8 Armory should know what I mean by an easter egg :zorro:

I resolved it the only way I know how to....I raised the front sightpost about half an inch.

Does mean it looks alittle bit tall when you see it from the 3rd person perspective but I hardly notice from 1st person.

Alrighty, I'm currently uploading what I'm hoping to be the very last beta for some testing by the GR.net supporters. Hopefully some of them can give the mod a run through quickly and don't report any serious bugs.

If that's the case expect to see a download link posted within 48 hours :party::drunk:

Edit: Oh, and the "easteregg" is ingame and working nicely ;)
