strike Posted October 11, 2006 Share Posted October 11, 2006 this is just plain arrogant and shameful to put are expectations of GR in a catagory of games that would be played for 10-15 hours to be satisfied with that. Oh man this is why this version if you want to call it of GR is the way it is, which i have a good feeling you know what that is by the simply fact that you all are having to constantly defend or try to justify or explain your title for the way it is or isn't performing, for the shear fact that you and your attitude torwards this game are totally erelevent to this communities wants and desires for a GR PC sequel. For me it's to the point that i have lost enterest in GR as a sequel, and im almost certain that the people that you will disscuss this with as of late will IMO not even be the peeps that where wanting an upgrade to begain with. How dissapointing! Rub it in why don't you. You are obviously not a original GR PC FAN im sure. Well said man. when will someone grasp the idea of a upgraded GR. If they had upgraded the game [GR] instead of trying to be all singing & dancing fancy an upgraded version of [GR] would have been the biggest grosing game of all time........ but did they listen to the original fans................ nope, shame really talk about shooting one's foot........... I've been doing some research in game programming as I'm working with FARCRY just to see if I can accomplish what i want to do with it. We even got an SDK for it. But I just want to see if i can do something with it. THAT is what making a game moddable is all about. I could use the Diesel engine and have the same file structure as [GR]. I don't really see any positive reason to have users edit "x" hundred of xml files to achieve what a decent editor could. to adit "x" hundred of xml files to do a task is like trying to go from northern Scotland to southern England and all the while trying to change road routes and road signs along the way to achieve getting to southern England in another way. so with GRAW, it seems just too much work to mod and I think that's why the modding for GRAW is little to non existent. the only mod to come down the pipe as of late is the delta force mod. GRAW uses HDR right? I believe that the HDR is what causes alot of the heavy work load on the PC. Now UBISOFT released FARCRY patch 1.4 which uses HDR now as well. But taking into account that Farcry is older material, i can still see enemy out at the same distance as before but the HDR doesn't seem to affect my PC in anyway considering the draw distance. maybe the problem with GRAW is something else? added: I don't get jaggies either. wierd. It is just when Willie comes across with the aspect of playing a GR sequel for 10-15 hours or what ever time line he gives for the satisfaction of this sequel, this right there gives us a good idea of GRINS intentions to begain with, almost to the point where he is bashing his own, work, or atleast settling for something common play. Im someone who would want to be looked at as not complaining so much but just trying to set the record straight, after all it carries GHOST RECON title. That's where the GR franchise went to hell in a hand basket. UBISOFT are into that sort of thing. they see what is big and they buy it to try and horde the cash and fame for themselves. look at farcry, ubisoft recently bought the rights to the crytek 1 engine they bought the rights to the tom clancy name, they bought RSE..down goes the GR series like being kicked in the ..(Edited by myself) They ruined the Rainbow6 series.*shudders* the only title not screwed and i refuse to hold my breathe to see it happen is splintercell Someone needs to develop a game that takes the loyal fans base away from UBISOFT. then ubisoft will maybe but, not necessarily learn from their mistakes.
