Jones 0
Hello new to the forum as a member but have visited the site quite often. Recently I reinstalled the original GR1 gold edition to run thru it once again. I've encountered a problem that I have not seen reported about here as of yet.(been searching for a few days now) The scenario is this, multiplay does not work. I can play campain and quick mission modes fine, however once I select either LAN or internet to host or join, this is what happens. Once I click either of the 2 options (LAN/internet) it takes me to the load screen where you'd normally choose your gear and such. What happens is this, once at that screen the game completly locks up/freezes. Only way out is to either alt+tab, alt+enter, or alt+esc. Then use task manager to shut program down, now within task manager while game is locked up it shows that GR1 is not responding. I do not have ubi.com installed, prefer to just host coop matches for a few friends. My rig far exceeds the system reqs, as I can host GR:AW, BF2, Joint Ops, RvS3 matches as well as many others with no problems whatsoever. I have no router, so thats not a question either. Some system reqs for you...winXP Home SP2 200Gb hd AMD 64 4000 Nvidia 6600 series 2gb ram. I also allowed traffic on both windows firewall and shield firewall, and tried playing multi with firewalls off and antivirus off...game still lockes up every time. I also followed the sticky uninstall/install guide posted here about 5 times with no luck. Deleting the appropriate files within registry. I'm really at a loss here, the singleplayer modes are fine and all but lets be honest multiplay is what made this game great. On a side note I had reinstalled GR1 back in April '06 for about a week or so to give it a go....it worked fine all across the board not a single lock up at all. If you all have any ideas or tips I'd really appreciate the help. Sorry if this has already been addressed and I missed the post about it. Thanks again for any help. thales100 44
I would suggest you to try to start a game from ubi.com, just to check if the game loads normally.
Jones 0
It does not. I tried that already as well.
