sui317
oliver, i agree with you on your discription, and love the way you tell it but GR is a totally different game or GR:AW is in fact a totally different game i think we all would wanted AW to be like GR, it just isn't for obvious reasons different dev. team different engine different dev history different times and the same economics in ubi's eyes if grin did not take on gr:aw then i don't think we would have seen a gr:aw pc, or any kind of follow up on GR:PC but i still agree with you on the manner with which you play the games, they are not quite the same though you can sneak in graw, but the setting does not make it easy nor is the gameplay optimized for sneaking slow and low but then again, if you play vilnus or moscow, it is hard(er) to sneak around or i am just not skilled enough ... RAbbi_74
I have to agree with Ollie that stealth is mostly a dream in this game. But sui brings up a good point I had only marginally considered before... Had GRIN not taken on GRAW at all, would ANYONE have done it? No offense to GRIN at all (you know I love you guys), but were they the backup plan, activated only after RSE declined to develop the PC version? What REALLY went on? Like the infamous Tootsie Roll question, the world may never know.....
Cpl Ledanek
Completely agree with Oliver. As I have posted in Post #13 3 characters just doesn't cut it as 3 teams. That's why you don't spell "team" with an "I."

No offense to GRIN at all (you know I love you guys), but were they the backup plan, activated only after RSE declined to develop the PC version? What REALLY went on?You have to remember RSE was still working on GR2 PC, LD-PC and starting GR:AW 360 at the time GRIN was already working on GR:AW PC (Nov 2004). I doubt GRIN was the backup plan. GRIN was probably contracted by Ubi at a time when they still had full intention of shipping GR2 PC.

Clearly, bill gates and Ubisoft were scheming to destroy everything humanity holds dear at that time. Not developing gr2 at all.

VeLocityChaos
Thread title: Why GRIN and UBI got it all wrong...., GRIN have made me sad... My answer: Because, this game has got no heart and no soul. I guarantee not one person from GRIN or UBI played [GR] the way we did and thought and felt the excitement we did. As soon as redstorm moved on to another project the idea and soul that was put into the game was lost. The best way to look at it, and the way I have looked at it since GR:AW's release was at least I was privileged to experience the way [GR] was meant to be played and enjoyed it for what its worth. I appreciate every thing about it and I`ll never forget that experience, its a shame that the heart in the franchise has to stop beating.
