Cryonic 0
Hi All, I got a Windows Sever 2003 server and I am wanting to put a GR1 dedicated server onto it. The only way I have been able to find to do this is install the retail version of the game and set it all up in the game. Problem!: I run GR on Server 2003 and it crashes without even getting to the UBI splash. Is there somthing I am missing here or am i doing it right? Is there any files like RvS which are made for Dedicated servers or just the Retail install of GR? Id really like to get a GR coop dedi server up, Hope you can help Cry EDIT: Server Specs: Celeron 2.8 1GB RAM 80GB HDD Edited September 9, 2006 by Cryonic
Dannik 43
A quick search shows several threads around here regarding GR1 and Windows 2003 Server. Make sure you have enabled sound, video acceleration, and your server meets the minimum specs for GR1, or your server won't run. There are no command line-style apps to serve GR1, just the GUI when running the main binary with the "-autoserve" tag attached to it.
Waika 0
Another feature that on some systems (probably depending on patch level) will cause the behavior you describe is Server 2003's Data Execution Protection; just add your exe to the to the allow list and it may solve your problem...
