I have been playing for a while, and have noticed that on many of the maps (not all, and it sometimes changes as to which ones) that if I spawn inside a building, I cannot see anything inside of it. But wait, here's the trippy part! Not only can I not see anything INSIDE the building, but I CAN see and SHOOT everything OUTSIDE of the bldg! Not sure what the deal is, but basically, I can't see anything inside the building, and they cant shoot me either. THey can apparently see me, since they definitely get their gun off in my direction, they just can't seem to connect. I can shoot everything I can see outside of the building. If I try to drop a grenade in the room, it just falls away into the distance. My movement is blocked by the walls and whatever other objects are around. I CAN open doors. I just can't see anything inside the building. It's so wierd. It happens on a lot of maps, but most frequently on the Airfield, HX5 Mint, and the SOAF maps, but it has happened on almost every indoor map except for the Training Facility. I am at a loss for ideas. I have tried multiple graphice drivers. I am current on my Windows updates. I got nothin'! Please note that the game does not crash, and everyone else can play normally. It only affects me! I have treid uninstalling and reinstalling more than once. Any help would be appreciated. Hiro_Nogano 0 Posted September 10, 2006 Author Share Posted September 10, 2006 OK, more info: After spending several hours testing this last night, I can tell you that it has now happened to all 4 of the guys I regularly LAN with, and it only seems to happen to the host of the game. I was able to play through all of the maps just fine when hosting a MP Co-Op game with just me in it. Once I had 2 other people join, it started on every map where I spawned indoors. (If I managed to get outside, I could come back in just fine.) We then had each of the other 2 guys host, and the problem persisted (although it was not as bad for one of them as it was for the other). They described it as a clipping issue. If so, it sounds like there may be missing or invalid spawn zones that are spawning you inside geometry. EDIT: Ah, just saw this: Loading map c:\ghost recon\mods\soafmaps\map\mp06\mp06_artgallery.map Looks like you have a mod using the SOAF maps that has invalid or bad spawn areas. I am running the HX series, Sabre Teams 1.3, the M4 SOPMOD, XM8 Armory, DS, IT, and all of the SOAF mods. However, this problem occurs even on the original maps. Is it because of where the mods cause me to spawn? If so, why can the other players see (and shoot) me? (I'm not doubting you, just looking for more answers.) Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I am sure you own SOAF, correct? Serellan, the problem could happen on any map where I spawned indoors. I have had it happen in GR maps, DS maps, SOAF maps, etc. However as you and Wombat50 pointed out, it was the HX mods that did it. I pulled all of them and the problem vanished. (Which sucks, btw, as they are among my favorite mods ever.) After re-reading the notes for the mod, they cause you to spawn in random locations. As soon as I deactivated the HX mods, everything was good. Now I just need to see if there's a way to disable the random spawn feature so I can reactivate them. And yes, I do own SOAF. It was SOAF that got me to buy GR, actually. (The movie sucked, but the game rocked!) I had only tried the GR single player game, and didn't like it, so I didn't pick it up. Someone bought me SOAF as a gift because of the multiplayer game, and I was hooked! Thanks for all your help!! I had that happen on occasion when I had HX5 activated.
